The issue with the incorrect zoomed in individual climb guidance. In a short period of time I have already experienced it twice. Here you can see that I have transitioned from a descent to a climb as visible at two different zoom levels: [image: 1777224787857-f1b77f1a-e047-41cc-b259-92e28034ec4b-1_all_9057.jpg] [image: 1777224818028-f1b77f1a-e047-41cc-b259-92e28034ec4b-1_all_9056.jpg] But if I zoom all the way in, it shows me at a descent, and that seems to be the previous descent that I’ve just finished: [image: 1777224970549-f1b77f1a-e047-41cc-b259-92e28034ec4b-1_all_9058.jpg] I hope it doesn’t require another year for this to get fixed! Also, as mentioned above, fix the layout so that it actually shows how much climb or descent is remaining and increase the font size for the remaining distance because it is quite difficult to see.

Hi. I also think the Vertical is still a good sports watch. I hope that in the next v1 update they’ll be able to include the altitude in the elevation contours in the maps at zoom resolutions that the MIP screen can display. Having them is useful in some conditions.

[image: 1777194333458-img_2053.jpeg] [image: 1777194333470-img_2054.jpeg] Some more helpful info I thought about, I read someone had a similar issue two times at the same distance each time. For me time and distance are different in each case, so I am not sure if it’s related to his issue or not. This is the issue I mentioned https://forum.suunto.com/topic/15116/watch-reboots-mid-activity-at-ca-9km-when-using-gpx-navigation/2 This also seems to be related. https://forum.suunto.com/topic/14527/crashes-in-the-middle-of-an-activity?_=1777194428329

said in Vibrations et tonalités fantômes: My current guess is that it may have something to do with the compass auto-calibration. I am almost certain this is this issue now. To check this, I performed the following: Open the compass widget (make sure it is already calibrated). Bring a magnet close to the watch (doesn’t have to be strong, a refrigerator magnet will work). This will reset the compass and bring up the “Calibrate Compass” notification. Without moving the watch, back out to the watch face. While on the watch face, perform the calibration movement (figure 8). The watch will eventually vibrate, signaling that the compass has been calibrated. Go back to the compass widget to verify it has been calibrated. I’ve performed this several times and every time I get the “phantom vibration.” My assumption is that some of us are perhaps in situations that cause the 9PP’s compass to reset often, and thus we get the phantom vibrations more often than others. I know for me, getting in and out of my car tends to mess with the compass calibration. Even a simple act like opening the refrigerator (with all those magnets on it) could reset the compass, triggering the background auto calibration and thus the phantom vibration. @isazi @egika Is there a chance this could be verified by Suunto? Would this qualify as a bug? Although a minor inconvenience, it seems like something that could be an easy fix as it seems to only affect the 9PP. Edit: You can perform an even easier verification. Simply bring a magnet close to the watch while on the watch face (locked or not). Then perform the figure 8 movement. You’ll get the phantom vibration once it calibrates, no need to check the compass widget. Checking the widget just verifies that the magnet reset the calibration.

I am also someone who have been using GPS watches for a decade and half now, starting from Garmin Forerunner 110 in 2011 and having Vertical 2 as my latest watch. I run in Pacific Northwest on mountain trails that are often under a very dense tree cover, under tall coniferous trees such as Dogras Fir, Red Cedar, Western Hemlock, etc. This is an extremely difficult environment for GPS and historically most GPS watches were very inaccurate. For a long time I thought that Suunto Ambit 3 Peak with its massive GPS antenna was perhaps one of the most accurate watches, but the new generation of watches with dual-band GNSS that have been released in the last few years, starting with Garmin Fenix 7 are amazingly accurate in this environment compared to anything we had before. The last generation of Suunto watches with dual-band GPS - Vertical, Race, Race S, Race 2, Vertical 2 - are all very accurate and some of the best in class in terms of GPS accuracy. But in my opinion, still nothing beats the Airoha GNSS chipset that was used in Garming Fenix 7, Forerunner 255, 955, and few other watches a few years ago. I think more recent GPS watches are a bit less accurate even though they may offer better battery efficiency. Here is a comparison of Fenix 7X Sapphire vs. Suunto Race S - on a similar terrain with the same map zoom level. Both of these are are examples of running downhill on a narrow singletrack trail. Both of these show 6 laps on the same loop. You can see that the track produced by Airoha GNSS definitely looks tighter with tracks from laps closer on top of each other. [image: 1776988567192-screenshot-2026-04-23-at-4.55.25-pm.png] [image: 1776987438944-screenshot-2026-04-23-at-4.18.40-pm.png] To be fair, more recent Garmin watches (Fenix 8, Enduro 3) are definitely less accurate than both Suunto watches and earlier Garmin watches. Also, distance wise I think Suunto is a bit more accurate. Garmin had a tendency to shorten the distance by 1-1.5% compared to the distance of the GPS track.

Is there a way to set up intervals on the main display of a sport mode? I don’t want to swipe down during exercises. I want to just see ‘3/10 RUN’ or something similar on the watch face. Thx

I know that HR measurement at the wrist can be difficult and it is better to use a chest strap. However, even for normal walking (not even Nordic walking) I get horribly wrong measurements, e.g. yesterday the watch showed a maximum of 139 bpm in the afternoon, but an 24h-ECG (which should be 100% accurate) shows a maximum of 106 bpm in the morning (it is hard to search for the same time span). Anyhow, the difference is not acceptable! Yes the watch has correct settings (left arm) and is correctly attached to the wrist. What can I do? I need to track my pulse.

Good day, I have a Suunto Spartan Ultra and have had it for 8 years. From my last Samsung UI update my watch has not synced my daily steps with the Suunto app. I have tried the following but not success: Restart phone and watch. Reinstall Suunto App Force stop Suunto App Unpair watch from phones Bluetooth and reconnect. Gave all items on Suunto App permission. Made sure Suunto APP and phone is not on energy saving mode. If anyone has a solution please assist. Kind regards

I thought the Wahoo cycling cadence sensor would connect to the Suunto app easily being Bluetooth. Should it? It’s also not connecting to the Ambit3 watch.

I haven’t used my D5 since January; I got it out of the cupboard today to charge it as it’s dead, but I can’t remember how to attach the charger. I’ve searched the manual but it just says ‘attach’, it doesn’t explain how. There’s a red thing on the end of the cable which I seem to recall ‘snaps’ onto the watch, but right now it’s not snapping onto anything - it doesn’t stick to the back of the watch like I seem to remember. Have I got this totally wrong? Please can someone explain in simple terms how to attach the charger?! Thanks

I’m still learning about the Climb Guidance with my Race 2 but this is also also already implemented by Amazfit in their very new Climb screens: ![alt text]([image: 1776091444591-01adf467-4a8a-4fd5-b985-e2a241ffa406-1776091421416578332154588355410.jpg] And this: https://forum.suunto.com/topic/15009/climb-guidance-improvement You can even configure the remaining ascent and descent between waypoints as datafields. I’d love to see those improvements in the Vertical 2/Race 2

@2b2bff said in Suunto in Movies/Series..: @Tami999 I thought I had seen the cutout for the flashlight… But in another video you can see, that is no MIP: https://youtu.be/aJY_JuGDWSU?si=neCqVae3plyIqZft&t=267 Nevertheless, cool that it is no Garmin… Okay, maybe he’s just bought different strap :D. 8:23 definitely looks more like Athletic 2 V1 default strap (orange canyon) rather than Athletic 9 from Vertical 2 (Canyon) where holes area is darker orange color. Anyway good catch!

@elbee I’m the opposite. I just use the map to follow a preset course so I don’t need to move it, especially now with the new update, I can leave it zoomed out and it will zoom I as I approach a turn. I get what you’re saying though, so I guess making it an option that you can toggle would be a better idea.

@brave_dave No, fortunately I don’t experience continuous disconnection issues. It only happens in water due to the physical limitations of Bluetooth transmission. When the arm comes out of the water, the connection is restored automatically without any problems. At least with the Vertical 2. Which device are you using?

@dg2288 Welcome. I agree (we surely all agree ) with sportsmode backup restore interest. For the sharing from others, argh… Are we really in this world where we need (want) to copy each and every things from others and not experiment by ourselves our own (personal) needs? No offense, I imagine that there could be some marketing interest for this, but not for my personal usage.
