While we wait for firmware updates on the Suunto Race S and Vertical 1.

I have question: is suunto going to replace the Ducktape JS engineby by QuickJS on the watch.

The simulator in the Suunto Development Toolkit uses QuickJS.

@brechtvb Out of curiosity I digged deeper to compare the two engines. It seems the hardware is too constrained to allow QuickJS to run - primarily the amount of RAM.

Suunto: Ambit, Ambit 3 Peak, 9 Baro, Race S, Race Ti, Vertical 2 Ti
Garmin: Forerunner 210, Forerunner 610, Fenix 6X, Fenix 7X Ti

@brechtvb Run is the first watch that’s using firmware V3. It’s not supported by the vscode extension so it might have diverged greatly from the V2 branch and may no longer be using Duktape. But those are just my speculations.

Judging the long time of receiving updates i dearly hope some proper features or firmware overhaul is being prepared.
