@Mff73 My trusty old Traverse is definitely getting on in years — 8 glorious years of loyal service! Anyway, yeah, it happens both when I’m biking and running, but it’s way more noticeable during my running session.

@crashnorun It is not mandatorily every 2/3 days, but at the very least 15/30min before a GPS activity. For your watch to get AGPs éphéméride file and parse it correctly. The fix should be quicker.

@A-Ryan Not sure if this helps, but I just tried my Traverse on my PC with Windows 10 and the latest Suuntolink version. It functioned normally (so it’s not that Traverse is not compatible). Hope you can figure out the issue.

I bought an old used Traverse Alpha because you can’t get new ones anymore. :-((( And there is still no successor!!! :-((( I put them in factory settings. Connected to my old MBP (2010) downloaded the Suunto app. Downloaded the latest sw. version to my watch and they work as they should.

@Matthew-Medina from time to time I use my ambit 3. I don’t find the distance much different from my 965. Here is an example. You talk about 1/4 mile difference, but in how many kms? Have you synced your traverse with suunto app or suunto link to get newer agps file? I think there is always differences, even from same watch on different times…

@P-Stevens if I remember correctly you need to sync with cable via Suunto link for the pois to appear on the app. If like the ambit, they won’t have altitude . I already reported to Suunto support who said “we will forward as a suggestion of improvement “.

@André-Faria Not entirely sure but I think the alpha was a hardware upgrade and the traverse does not have all the same features.

@bozgurt Hi, yes I have the same problem and I think it is an issue of static charge building up in the watch as described here (see comments): https://www.reddit.com/r/Suunto/comments/m9g58p/suunto_traverse_altimeter_and_barometer_fault/ Actually I can reproduce this behavior quite well especially in winter when there is less water in the air. Every time I put on an outdoor jacket made of synthetic fibers, the watch starts to show unrealistic values and the contrast of the screen starts to fade. After a while, the watch turns back to normal behavior. This process can be sped up by pouring water over the watch to “discharge” it. In summer (no jackets, higher absolute humidity) the watch shows no problems at all. Since I know the origin of the issue, I can adapt to it and enjoy my traverse alpha despite of its little flaw. Still a great piece of gear. Try to induce static charge on the watch by rubbing it against fabrics to see if you can reproduce the error. Cheers!

@yannickwiegers Swimming in the pool does not include gps. There is no way to measure distance. After all, this is a Traverse, not an S9.
