@dreamer_ I used the navigation arrow on Garmin Fenix 6 and 7 watches - the one that goes around the data screen. I thought about suggesting the same for Suunto watches but I think it won’t fit the design because there is already intensity zone dial around most data screens on Suunto watches, and it has its own arrow. Having two different arrows would be confusing. And besides, in my experience that navigation arrow didn’t work that well at running speeds. Often, it would delay pointing me in the right direction until after I was already past the turn if I wanted to go quickly without stopping, so in many situations it was adding to the confusion rather than helping me to navigate.

@Joaquin wonderful work, Joaquín. Thank you! Is there any estimate for when this update will arrive in Race 2?

I enjoy both verticals and I have no problem reading them but for the summer season MiP is awesome. [image: 1779639840081-img_1252.jpeg] [image: 1779639840139-img_1254.jpeg]

The models of garmin that are testen in a scientific way (not by some sport gadget blogger) shows that hrv isn’t that accurate on those models. (See https://the5krunner.com/2026/05/05/forerunner-265-hrv-study/ , links to sources on that page) I have no reason to believe other models or other brands are more accurate.

@jthomi After a few weeks of difficult charging, my 9PP has completely stopped charging for the past two days. I’m hesitant to switch to Garmin, mainly because of the overly sporty look of their mid-range watches, and because I don’t really want to, nor do I have the time to, familiarize myself with a new interface, although I would greatly appreciate having more feedback in interval training (number of intervals, # remaining, beep for the target adjusted at each step). I finally ordered a Race S somewhat out of desperation. I know the GPS and heart rate accuracy will be better than on the 9PP, but I would have preferred to wait for a newer version. Who knows, maybe a Race 2S? I know that the 9PP and the Race S share the same charger. If by some miracle I can charge my old Watch, I’ll return the whole thing, simply order a new charger, and see how the models evolve in the coming year.

@jmlee I’m sorry it didn’t work. I’ll ask a friend if he’ll let me try it with his 9PP and let you know.

Good evening all, I understand that the topic was discussed in between topics and comments, I just wanted to submit this in a fresh format to request for advice. My Suunto 9 G1 is not charging any more, and I am trying to figure out what is wrong. Until now I have cleaned the contacts, reset the watch, tried with another cable and with different chargers. The watch might start charging for a while, but if it’s unplugged it doesn’t continue charging. I consider this watch as a strong ally in my daily routine and activities, and I don’t want to quit it. Is there any advice? Thank you

I know that HR measurement at the wrist can be difficult and it is better to use a chest strap. However, even for normal walking (not even Nordic walking) I get horribly wrong measurements, e.g. yesterday the watch showed a maximum of 139 bpm in the afternoon, but an 24h-ECG (which should be 100% accurate) shows a maximum of 106 bpm in the morning (it is hard to search for the same time span). Anyhow, the difference is not acceptable! Yes the watch has correct settings (left arm) and is correctly attached to the wrist. What can I do? I need to track my pulse.

Good day, I have a Suunto Spartan Ultra and have had it for 8 years. From my last Samsung UI update my watch has not synced my daily steps with the Suunto app. I have tried the following but not success: Restart phone and watch. Reinstall Suunto App Force stop Suunto App Unpair watch from phones Bluetooth and reconnect. Gave all items on Suunto App permission. Made sure Suunto APP and phone is not on energy saving mode. If anyone has a solution please assist. Kind regards

I thought the Wahoo cycling cadence sensor would connect to the Suunto app easily being Bluetooth. Should it? It’s also not connecting to the Ambit3 watch.

I haven’t used my D5 since January; I got it out of the cupboard today to charge it as it’s dead, but I can’t remember how to attach the charger. I’ve searched the manual but it just says ‘attach’, it doesn’t explain how. There’s a red thing on the end of the cable which I seem to recall ‘snaps’ onto the watch, but right now it’s not snapping onto anything - it doesn’t stick to the back of the watch like I seem to remember. Have I got this totally wrong? Please can someone explain in simple terms how to attach the charger?! Thanks

@safari sorry, not you have to do the maths, but Suunto should give the option m/s OR km/h (this option could be set one the phone) and then it is just Math

@Tomas5 That’s what Strava Live segments are for - you can see how many seconds you are ahead or behind your best attempt in real time. Suunto watches do support Strava Live segments but you have to have paid Strava account to enable that on the Strava side. Then you can create a private segment on a route of your choice and keep repeating it over time using Strava Live segments S+ guide on your Suunto watch. You can also use one of existing public segments and see where you stand compared to others.

@sky-runner Thank you for your response. I couldn’t react since I can’t log in on my phone. I was away a few days. I didn’t use snap to route. I was just following my route and decided to go different. I just ignored my watch and didn’t change a thing. Battery mode was performance mode. Hopefully I’ll do another run the next days. But these are busy days

Ok, thank you for the feedback! Then I reduce my question to Bike Pod (no readings) and Power drops ( dropping to zero during the run). I don’t get values from a bike pod with Vertical and RaceS with current firmware. Did a restore of 2.44 on the RaceS - also didn’t help. So three samples in total and I am not the only one. Pod works with Garmin 910xt, Garmin 235, Laptop (ANT+ stick) and Suunto Ambit3 Vertical. And the Power Drops to Zero - I had them on every Run until it was resolved with 2.44. Also this was a common problem in 2.43 I think. Maybe a 2.39 could solve both issues? Its Hometrainer weather in Austria and I want to use the Pod…

I buyed it to try and unfortunatly I can answer the question. It doesn’t work with Suunto - but with Garmin 🤮 The Sensor connects via Bluetooth, but delivers no readings. On Garmin with ANT everything works out of the box

@docsport77 Power doesn’t work if you choose the treadmill activity, but you can use a Running activity and deactivate GPS. Not very accurate I think, but it works

@aiv4r I’m talking about configuring it directly from the watch. But setting a very long rest time is so simple that I didn’t even think of this workaround ^^ Thank you

My initial need is not really relevant anymore. @Egika said in Disable autolap notification during intervals: activating and de-activating autolaps will be possible with Suunto S9PP, Race, Vertical soon. But I still can’t find it anywhere. And it would be really useful to enable it manually during a session. A typical example : I start a run with the wrong sport mode, the one without autolap. After a few kilometers, I realised it and want to turn autolap on… but I couldn’t, unless I switched to another sport mode - which would split my workout into two separate activities.

@omurray I agree. Feeling is so subjective that is skews the Recovery Metric. If my sleep and HRV are poor but my feeling after activity thew day before was very good then it reports I am ready to train. However, that morning I feel exhausted! I will skip Feeling in future to try to force the algorithm to just use HRV, Sleep and Training Load and Fatigue

Well thought out and reasonable suggestions for improvement, as usual. I would also suggest an option to display intensity zones ring/gauge on the map screen, just as it is displayed on other data pages. It would be very helpful to have it even without the corresponding numerical data field. This way, users could stay on the map page all the time without switching back and fort to check the intensity. 🥵
