Does anybody else have the same Problem? I got the Race 2 new just ine Day ago and the Crown is wuite dofferent in its behaviour than on the Race S. It is quite loose and is easy to turn which is in itself not a bad Problem but every thrid or fourht turn it is not working. I turn it an nothing happens on the Watch. There is also more distance between the Crown and the Watch in Comparison with the setup on the Race S. Is that a mechanical failure just on my Watch or does anybody else has that Problem?

I’ve been testing this for a week. I’ve finally finished it. The results are as follows. These results are my personal comments based on my personal use. Watch: Suunto Vertical Titanium Solar Fw: 2:44:46 App: iOS 3.2.0 Beta The watch hasn’t been removed from my wrist for 24 hours. No exercise has been done. (daily use) Daily use: Activated usage during testing: 24/7 wrist-based HR tracking Wake-up reminder Constantly connected to phone (Bluetooth and Wi-Fi) Notifications (I receive a lot of notifications, email, SMS, etc.) Manual sync at least 5 times a day Media controls Pedometer Blood oxygen monitoring Sleep tracking Automatic altitude adjustment 3 times a day (connects to GPS) Wake-up alarm every morning Wrist-based alerts on Sound notifications on Race 2 watch interface According to this table, I found my daily battery consumption average to be 9.3% between 8:00 AM and 8:00 AM the next day. Sunlight also plays a role here, but it doesn’t exceed 0.3% at most. I also tested under the sun, so I’ll briefly mention that. I left the watch charging in the midday sun, and it charges at most. If the battery is over 94%, it reaches 100% in an hour with sunlight, but if the battery is less than 94%, it doesn’t increase even 1% in an hour. Furthermore, after a while, the watch goes to sleep, decreasing its consumption. As a result, some features need to be updated automatically through the app, more Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections, more watch interface complications, and the fact that my watch is 1.5 years old, I think this increases battery consumption. You can factor in the FW update. Regards. Translated by Google Translate. (Original text: Turkish)

@isazi Thank you for the clarification and simplification. So… New thresholds are calculated for each workout and the 3 zones are all that counts. The scales and graphs are meaningless. Today on my two hour bike ride there was no measurement of ZoneSense thresholds in terms of heart rate. I’ve only seen this difference shown for aerobic threshold - never anaerobic threshold. Tying the two systems together like this is also very useful - when it happens - if it happens.

This update works fine for me, heart rate tracking working, sleep tracking working, I do some running, climbing and gym workouts, all are tracked fine and battery life is good. Only thing broken is VO2max, but that has been broken for over 2 years now, not sure it every worked for me…

@MKPotts, it’s a 9 Peak Pro. Not sure it’s the update that caused the issue, TBH. Just trying to figure out what caused it. I’ve sent it to Suunto for repair. I’ll post their feedback here.

@timecode I did check and unfortunately can’t help. I don’t see any issues on the cloud end. Different case. @adrian-suunto Suunto 9 Baro has limited storage size, your workout data may be already overwritten by newer workouts data. IIRC you can check that by open the workout on the watch and see if workout summary has charts (like HR graph). If no then it’s the workout data is gone from the watch. So if it failed to sync from the watch to mobile app then it’s unlikely we can do anything.

Hello, today we noticed this issue on my wifes 5 Peak. Unfortunatelly it has already 2.5 year so it is not under warranty anymore. And she is light user, and not wearing it while washing dishes, showering, sleeping etc. Only around 9hours a day during working days only and then while cycling/hiking but thats few times a month. Hi all! My Android mobile phone can connect and be paired with my Suunto 5, but it keeps on pairing once both devices are connected. Obviously, no performance data is automatically synced. The app and softwares are updated. What might be the problem? Thanks!

Interesting take! A lightweight Suunto with Stryd support would be a game-changer for runners. I doubt they’ll add it, but if they did, I’d consider it too. The T6c was legendary—2000 miles is impressive!

@Luis-Andés-Olmedo I never use AOD. Raise to wake is plenty fast and I don’t need to look at my watch that often. Certainly not when I am trying to move fast on technical terrain.

@ChrisA you and Brad make great points and I agree with you. I particularly follow Scott Johnston’s work with Uphill athlete (and now Evolv). SJ wasn’t absolutely against HRV btw, but that current methods of measuring them aren’t reliable (as we have experienced as well). That said, I believe the main idea of the original question is whether this measurement is inconsistent when swapping watches. They probably somewhat are if there are differences in watch sensors. I mean, we can get different results on the same watch just by switching arms.

@bobson also agree about the lag. Not sure what people expect or what they think is important. Much ado about nothing. IMO. I’d gladly accept miniscule lag if the battery lasts longer, and that is one of the tradeoffs.

Hi all, @zadow said in Left-hand wearer option: I am curious what is the experience of lefthanded people with SR and the rotating crown…? left-handed owner of Suunto Race here, wearing it on the right arm. I’ve only had this watch for a couple months (summertime only, no long sleeves) hence had no issue (yet ?) with clothes. So far, the only issue with the rotating crown is with my arm hair that gets into the crown, especially while exercising when I’m sweaty. I guess this is not specific to left-handed people, but since you were asking

@sky-runner I agree completely, I was just suggesting quite a lot of what you would like is “almost” there so the step forward wouldn’t be massive. There is the suunto+ app that you can setup with notes at times or distances (I think) that might also be of help if you’ve not tried it. I do think it would be good to have more of this baked in though. As you say, the FIT file format would allow for custom fields so being able to add metadata to a waypoint in a route plan such as arrival time or nutrition notes or anything else you want would be easy and flagging the waypoint in some way could allow the watch to show stats between points or assent to next point etc. very easily. @2b2bff I think Suunto’s biggest concern with increasing the number of S+ apps, based on previous comments in this forum, is the battery drain. I get the impression Suunto are keen that their watches meet the advertised battery duration even with all the features in use - including maps, vertical climb info and 2 S+ apps. Maybe a solution here would be to allow more apps but with a warning that pops up to highlight estimated battery life will be less accurate with more apps. Personally I never push the limits of the battery on my Race S and would love to make more use of S+ apps - or even just 2 apps and a workout.

@deserthike20 @MotherRunner @aiv4r @2b2bff @mando I will convey this to Suunto but I may set up a poll or something here to help gain traction on this. The more that want a change the better chance we have. I will enquire on the field test site first to see if this is planned to be optional and get back to you here.

@isazi It had the latest firmware on it. But after your post I tried to reinstall on it. This morning I tried out Guides and Navigation together for my training session and … IT WORKS NOW Thanks a lot, for your helping. About guides and apps not work together, I knew. I guess it is because both are S+ apps practically and only one S+ can run in a time. But anyway, I really wait when Suunto extend this at least to run two of them.

@babychai I see. Well, so far there’s no music support in Suunto watches apart from S7. You can control the music from your phone via the watch, but it has to be in bluetooth range.

@stromdiddily said in Crossfit training: @Danny-poleg I think it’s a trademark issue isn’t it? This is correct. Suunto watches (starting with the Spartan ultra,I believe) had a sport mode called “CrossFit”; it was later renamed “Cross training” because of trademark issues.

@isazi It now works on my Peak 9 Pro. I used Climbing and added a new personal mode, turned of gps as I use it indoors. It is quite okay but maybe it would be better to choose a different sport mode as base.
