Greetings all and best to you wherever you are. Have owned SUUNTO in the past; it’s been a while. I did just buy a new in the box SUUNTO Kailash, and have to say I love the watch. New and different, and, well, …it’s a SUUNTO. My question to you is this: HOW do I turn the watch off? I tell you what, it has been frustrating to say the least. I tried contacting SUUNTO in their Chat option, and the guy had the wrong watch (talking about “swiping” which is not a function on the Kailash). Then I emailed SUUNTO at “support@suunto.com” and - I got a generic (saw this on the Internet when searching for how to do this) response that simply does NOT power the watch down and turn it off.

I have several watches that I like to wear, so this might be sitting for weeks/months. It would be dumb to just drain the battery every time I decide to wear it after having to fully recharge it.

Please - anyone who has one or has owned one in the past, how - do you turn the watch off?

      Thank you!

@HereInThePacNWusaBCT it is a watch. Who turns their watches off? I wear mine to read the time and other info. Ist just is always on.

But there might be an option to turn it fully off using Suuntolink. But it comes along with a full reset to factory defaults.

You can turn the Kailash in the service mode.
But i can’t remember how. Let me see on my watch or google that.

@HereInThePacNWusaBCT I can turn my Traverse off by entering “service menu” > “ACTION” > “Power Off”.
Maybe it is a similar operating mode with Kailash.
Please check the service manual (page 9) https://forum.suunto.com/assets/uploads/files/1620657027880-suunto-service-manual.pdf

Kailash: Press Up and Down down at the same time (10sec) to go into service mode and check available options under “ACTION” menu. maybe you will find “Power Off”

@sebchastang I think this has the same result as with Suuntolink: watch will reset to factory defaults

                Yep
Afair “old” series watches cannot be turned off, they can just be set to a clean “service mode” status that should also wipe data

                SSSWHR BARO Amber - 2.8.32

@Egika Result is not exactly the same since it wipes everything (including logbook, sport modes, navigation and general settings, …) with SuuntoLink.
“Power Off” from service menu shutdown the watch and wipes personal data, time, A-GPS and reset default displays
“Soft reset” (which turns off the watch) only wipes A-GPS, time and reset default displays.
Logbook, Sport modes, navigation and general settings are not affected.
