Yeah sorry I am not really sure if it’s watch or app related problem??
Funny enough I loaded the JSON file here,
        https://smlanal.szmigiel.design/
And it shows 159.85km?? Not the 161km.
It appears GPS tracking just stopped at 159km??
But then how does it end up being 161km shown on the watch?

@Peter-Pan-0 I guess that the watch uses the accelerometer to calculate the approximate distance without GPS. If I am not mistaken, it is the way it can calculate distance/speed when running without GPS coverage (i.e., under a bridge). My guess is that the watch at some point stops using GPS to save battery in critical conditions (as with other functions) but keeps recording until battery is completely depleted and uses the accelerometer as an alternative.

            I think as @efejota.
You might have missed (if there was one) the watch warning that it will change to some ultra mode…

I don’t think this is it. He said he still had 18% left at the end of the activity. On older firmware, things used to shut down more aggressively, but that was some time ago. The first low battery warning does pop-up at 20%, but does not affect any settings. IIRC, things don’t start to shut down now until around the 5% range.

Although, I suppose things could be different for such a large activity. Perhaps the 9PP was running out of memory at that stage? The fact that the activity distance is longer than the GPX distance does suggest that it shifted into Tour mode (GPS logged every 30 minutes) for the final 1.5km, logging one final GPS point at the end of the activity, but not connecting it to the GPX trace.

I seem to recall some other folks having issue uploading extra long activities to SA, but can’t recall if it was watch model specific.

                Thanks all.
I was wondering if it was due to activity sync possibly interrupted. Then I was wondering if I re-upload maybe it’s fixed?
But then… If I delete on SA how do I force re-sync for that activity? Or is it all transferred to SA and apart from basic info not on the watch any longer after initial sync? Therefore a resync would not work anyway?

@Peter-Pan-0 It should all still be on the watch. You can check by going to the Logbook. If it has all the stats just like the activity summary screen, especially the graphs (HR, zone chart, elevation profile), then all the data should still be on the watch. If it only shows a small summary of distance and time, then the full dataset is not on the watch. Activities are deleted from oldest to newest to free up room when necessary.

I’ve had to recover activities stored on the watch before and it isn’t totally straight forward. I think the process goes something like this:

                  • Delete the activity from SA
                  • Unpair watch from SA and remove SA connection from watch (Settings > Connectivity > Paired devices > MobileApp)
                  • Remove watch from phone’s BT connection
                  • Sign out of SA (this removes an activity data saved to the device)
                  • Close SA (you can go one step further and delete/redownload SA, but I don’t know if that’s necessary)
                  • Open and sign back in to SA
                  • Re-pair watch

When the watch is re-paired, SA will look for any stored activities on the watch that are not already attached to your account.

Honestly, all you might need to do is delete the activity and then sign out and back in to SA. The above just covers all the bases.

I’ll stress that this has worked for me in the past, but, obviously, make sure you save a backup of the activity before you delete it! Either directly from the Suunto App or from another connected service. If, for some reason, the above doesn’t work, there are ways to get the .FIT file back on to your Suunto account, although that’s not straight forward either.

                    @duffman19 thanks I will try.
I can export a fit or JSON file. But how would I insert it later in case it doesn’t sync the deleted activity?

@Peter-Pan-0 The only way I know is to use a third party app, like RunGap, to sync it back to the app. I don’t think there is any way to upload it directly to SA.

So I tried first with a short stretching activity. Delete from SA, log out of SA, login again, resync and it showed the activity again.
However. doing so with my long run, seems to not resync although it’s still on the watch (at least showing on the watch.
I noticed. Daily HR, steps, resources are all in SA including the activity time. But GPS and activity stats are not. Would be great to ad Fit/json manualy Back into SA. That’s possible?

Is it possible json and fit files are deleted if you uninstal SA?? Would be an explanation I can’t find them on my phone anymore.
