@dreamer_ I think there might have been a small misunderstanding, so just to clarify my point. I was simply referring to the brands you mentioned as examples, not trying to say one approach is better or worse. Each brand has its own philosophy, and this is just ours. Of course, we are actively working towards improving things like GPX-based turn guidance or routing directly on the watch, but we want to do it in a way that we believe is robust and reliable for the user. That’s why, for example, offline maps in the app combined with routing to the watch is part of what I’d call the “Suunto way” of building a routable map experience. I really appreciate your feedback and the level of detail you’re bringing to the discussion. It’s genuinely valuable for us ️‍

@2b2bff I don’t think so…surely all the other devices can’t be wrong? Additionally, when I plot a route on footpath or the Suunto app, the Race 2 always returns a shorter distance than the plotted route too…my other watches don’t. This is mainly on canal towpaths so not a lot of cutting corners going on…but plenty of weaving round walkers etc. that could add a few meters. But it appears it’s not going to be looked at and I’m struggling to see why this would be.

@nseslija Same for me, by far the best sports/GPS watch I’ve ever owned - and I’ve owned plenty! Sure there’s been a few glitches and bugs but overall it’s one hell of a tool. It’s kept me on pace during my ultra’s and kept me safe and on track during many adventures in unknown territory I’ll have had it for 3 years next month, and the fact that over those 3 years it’s continually being worked on and improved is not lost on me. I’ve been part of this forum for years and this is just another nice extra… good job Suunto

@Olaf-Gottschalk As I wrote in your original post from 4 months ago, there’s a workaround without stopping the activity. After disconnect, switch to Tour battery performance in activity menu (long press bottom button), then switch it back to Performance. This disables and reenables watch’s Bluetooth and power meter reconnects to watch.

In my case, with the Vertical 1 Titanium Solar, I’m confident the issues started with version 2.43.12 released in June 2025. I had been monitoring battery consumption, which increased from about 3% per day during normal use to around 7%. It’s not a dramatic spike, but it reduces battery life from roughly 21–22 days down to no more than 14–15 days. Wouldn’t it be enough to check what changed between version 2.40.44 and 2.43.12?

Phantoms vibrations reaturned, in my case. Not very often, but still… I will try to check if it is related to phone presence.

The offline music player is a great feature of the Run, but getting tracks to play in a specific order is currently awkward. The library view shows tracks in an arbitrary order: not by filename, tag, or folder. Two albums dropped into the music folder come out interleaved and scrambled: [image: 1776441556477-screenshot_20260417-170607.jpg] None of the three playback modes (single repeat, playlist repeat, shuffle) resolves this. To listen to an album in its intended order, the only option is to rebuild it as a playlist in the Suunto app, track by track. Three possible additions come to mind - any one would solve it: Respect folder structure. Let the watch browse folders and play them as a queue. Read .m3u / .m3u8 files from the music folder. Playlists built in a desktop tool could just be dropped onto the watch. Sort the flat library deterministically. By filename, or by Track Number / Album tags. Adding sorted playback wouldn’t take anything away: shuffle mode already exists for anyone who wants to listen in a random order.

Is there a way to set up intervals on the main display of a sport mode? I don’t want to swipe down during exercises. I want to just see ‘3/10 RUN’ or something similar on the watch face. Thx

I know that HR measurement at the wrist can be difficult and it is better to use a chest strap. However, even for normal walking (not even Nordic walking) I get horribly wrong measurements, e.g. yesterday the watch showed a maximum of 139 bpm in the afternoon, but an 24h-ECG (which should be 100% accurate) shows a maximum of 106 bpm in the morning (it is hard to search for the same time span). Anyhow, the difference is not acceptable! Yes the watch has correct settings (left arm) and is correctly attached to the wrist. What can I do? I need to track my pulse.

Good day, I have a Suunto Spartan Ultra and have had it for 8 years. From my last Samsung UI update my watch has not synced my daily steps with the Suunto app. I have tried the following but not success: Restart phone and watch. Reinstall Suunto App Force stop Suunto App Unpair watch from phones Bluetooth and reconnect. Gave all items on Suunto App permission. Made sure Suunto APP and phone is not on energy saving mode. If anyone has a solution please assist. Kind regards

I thought the Wahoo cycling cadence sensor would connect to the Suunto app easily being Bluetooth. Should it? It’s also not connecting to the Ambit3 watch.

I haven’t used my D5 since January; I got it out of the cupboard today to charge it as it’s dead, but I can’t remember how to attach the charger. I’ve searched the manual but it just says ‘attach’, it doesn’t explain how. There’s a red thing on the end of the cable which I seem to recall ‘snaps’ onto the watch, but right now it’s not snapping onto anything - it doesn’t stick to the back of the watch like I seem to remember. Have I got this totally wrong? Please can someone explain in simple terms how to attach the charger?! Thanks

@Mff73 Also, considering that battery duration has considerably been enhanced with last generation of watches (S9pp < SR < SV), the number of charge cycles his more than divided by 2 compared to previous generations.

@Brad_Olwin said in Accessibility: @cjanevate You can select a watch face that is as easy to read as possible. I wear eyeglasses and create custom sport modes with 3 or 4 fields. I can see those clearly. It is hard for me to see the tiny time font though. No human is capable of reading that data in motion. Well let’s face it, neither that one nor many others. Especially those related to instructions in structured training or many of the S+apps that require you to practically stop to read them. I would also like a reconsideration by programmers/designers in this regard.

I’d also be interested to know as I too suffer from this (last time I was tested they recorded around 1500 ectopic beats over a 24 hour period). I’m lucky enough to suffer from both atrial fibrillation which is probably connected to aortic stenosis. I’m anticipating a stent will be on the cards for me over the coming decade or two I don’t use HR for my training and I haven’t yet used HRV, but will definitely keep an eye on this thread as I may implement the HRV recording in the future

Posting it here (I have since updated to 2.33, but this happened under2.30.38) as I read that it used to be a known bug on the 9PP: Last week I finished a short yoga workout (25 min.) and my 9PP stayed in saving state for over 10 min. I could unfreeze it by coupling the charging cable, then activity showed as saved and gave me the summary. Thought it might be good to keep it as a record. I’ll of course monitor if this happens on the new FW. Enjoy your day everyone! [image: 1711612408201-3841cece-88a8-4b14-8f62-082089593a6f-img_2515-4311.jpg]

ooh wait yes that’s seems to be the orthostatic test from polar… @isazi in https://support.polar.com/en/support/the_what_and_how_of_orthostatic_test by the section “How do I do an orthostatic test?” the description is quite the same as the fitness test. I’ll get a deeper look on it. I’m little bit confused on why only the v02max is evaluated here, regarding about all we discussed before and the concept of evaluation of the value which is exclusive by red-zone…

@Durri definitely not necessary. While I am not really sure if you off-time sleeps will be handled as sleeping or napping, just leave it on and let it do it’s thing. Then we like to hear about your experience!

@isazi It now works on my Peak 9 Pro. I used Climbing and added a new personal mode, turned of gps as I use it indoors. It is quite okay but maybe it would be better to choose a different sport mode as base.

After several years of being addicted to this gimmicky, I have learned that all this stuff is good to get accustomed with certain concept as a beginner and to get very long term trend insights, but if you get too much attached, they are un-educational, preventing you to benefit from the most important gift you can get from sport: mind<->body connection.
