@Dieter1960 What a sad day today. I took the Vertical 2 out with my H10 HRM for my Tuesday intervals run. No phone, no other BT device on me, just the V2 and the H10. I was so sad to see that 10 minutes into warm up my V2 starting doing its “stuck on 125 BPM” thing. Pulled the H10 on and off and it took 3 minutes for it to start working properly. I guess I was wrong. It will randomly disconnect or get stuck on signal. I will give it another run tomorrow alone with just the HRM Pro + and see what happens. If it does the same again I think it will have to be on the shelf until the update comes and hopefully that fixes it. That after last night have no sleep data because I went to sleep a couple hours later than usual. It read “no sleep tracked” this morning.

@Mads-Hintz-Madsen Yes that’s it, thanks a lot! I thought it worked just like my Garmin HRM Dual, which can broadcast its signal to both the Wahoo and the Suunto Race at the same time, but that’s not the case here. I’ll just use the Wahoo for my indoor sessions and then upload the fit file to the Suunto app afterwards. Thanks again and happy holidays!

@teddycricket said in sleep tracking not working after most recent update: A soft restart returned the heart rate. As you did, I’ve always soft reset the watch to restore the functionality of the OHR sensor; however, yesterday I’ve tried to restore the sensor by switching on and than off the “Power Saving” mode: it worked! In this way you do not have to synchronise the watch before the reset to keep the latest data, obviously in case of you do not keep your watch constantly connected to the phone via Bluetooth.

They’ve just given me the problem and the solution: apparently, the watch has to be in contact with the skin. If you wear it over clothing, the wrist-raise gesture doesn’t work.

@aplatonovs any newer watch than 9PP is a better choice. I bought a Race S for my wife as a replacement for 9PP and she couldn’t be more happier. No issues with the watch.

@mikajahkola Perhaps you could record this as treadmill running which allows calibration once you’ve stopped recording on the watch. After you’ve calibrated it, it should become more accurate.

Good day, I have a Suunto Spartan Ultra and have had it for 8 years. From my last Samsung UI update my watch has not synced my daily steps with the Suunto app. I have tried the following but not success: Restart phone and watch. Reinstall Suunto App Force stop Suunto App Unpair watch from phones Bluetooth and reconnect. Gave all items on Suunto App permission. Made sure Suunto APP and phone is not on energy saving mode. If anyone has a solution please assist. Kind regards

@sky-runner said in It's 2024 - Anyone Still Training Only With An Ambit?: It was more accurate than most watches at the time a decade ago, but compared to modern watches with dual-frequency GNSS, A3P accuracy is mediocre. Can’t disagree, but I still like them

I haven’t used my D5 since January; I got it out of the cupboard today to charge it as it’s dead, but I can’t remember how to attach the charger. I’ve searched the manual but it just says ‘attach’, it doesn’t explain how. There’s a red thing on the end of the cable which I seem to recall ‘snaps’ onto the watch, but right now it’s not snapping onto anything - it doesn’t stick to the back of the watch like I seem to remember. Have I got this totally wrong? Please can someone explain in simple terms how to attach the charger?! Thanks

@seanvk Suunto is already looking into this. I am very sure it will come to enable multiple at a time (e.g. external device, structured workout and a technical one together makes sense). Can’t confirm any dates though.

Sorry to revive this dead thread But I had to share this with you, guys. Yesterday there was a powercut when I was at work in the underground (no windows), I just had my watch with me. Naturally, the first thing I tried to get an improvised flashlight was turning on the backlight of my watch. But that was of no use - even at the highest brightness and with white background, the intensity is just not good enough… The way to go is quite different! Consider this as a life-hack In these situations, you just take the watch off your wrist and activate the optical HR measurement. The optical HR sensor LEDs are much brighter than any “backlight flashlight”! Their flashing is slightly annoying, but better than nothing in such situations…

@activejiggy you’ll see percentage when you press and hold the lower button as if you would like to lock or unlock the buttons, or when you pause an activity and flip thru pause screens with middle button. but the watch will remind you during an activity when battery capacity becomes critical and offers you to switch to another battery mode. it’s very clever and smart designed in order to make us worry less about it

@freeheeler said in Watch full of activities?: … normally people sync every now and then and you don’t even need to do it manually. It happens when you turn on the BT on your phone, if the watch isn’t in airplane (like) mode

@metalmi I think it seems like that feature is hidden seems not really obvious for a new user. Ideally I think when someone purchases a watch from Suunto and is doing the initial setup it would ask if you want to enter a name and contact info to be added into the watch in addition to your age, height, and weight. Then the watch would automatically show the correct info in some of the menus do if someone picks it up and uses it they will see it.

I try to raise this. @Brad_Olwin and @Łukasz-Szmigiel it looks that for the OP (check the thread he linked), the “walking” cadence is triggered.

@mountainchris here’s one issue I can not explain… I’ve started at my doorstep with clearly wrong altitude and observed how fusedalti had corrected altitude after the first “hill”. the route should be 99.something% symmetrical but a alti drop happened 1/3rd way back and it remained wrongish. the graph itself does not look like the sensor was blocked. no up or down spikes. but the last bit on the way home has a different shape than the start that was corrected by fusedalti. it would be interesting how often fusedalti kicks in and if it also considers gps signal strength for accuracy? I think it does, because if gps height is several meters off, it would unnecessarily “correct” an almost correct value. [image: 1650992338451-b9f29c17-0b90-4170-b49e-93f5bec312b7-image.png]
