@tug563 I also cannot notice a big difference on Race S, only nuances. Hopefully thos will be improved with firmware. Did you measure or judge by the eye?

@Suunto Team, I was quite disappointed that a severe bug was introduced regarding swim styles and lane tracking for pool swimming in 2.40.44. The lane count, which was quite precise before, always showed counts way above the real distance I covered, and swim style recognition was deteriorated drastically. With 2.44.46, which said “Improved swim style detection in pool swimming”, I had hoped that things would be back to normal, but unfortunately, this is not the case. Here’s a screenshot from the Suunto app of a recent swim unit: [image: 1757079223827-screenshot_sunnto_swimming.png] The lanes marked in yellow and blue are translation errors (“Butterfly” should be “Delphin” or “Schmetterling” in the german translation, and “zurück” certainly should read “Rücken”), but that are only minor points. The main point is that swim style recognition is completely off: First of all, I definitely do not do apnoe diving in the pool I’m training in. This pool is approx. 2 m deep, so no diving possible at all. Second, I regulary do a mix of free style, breast stroke, back stroke and a few butterfly lanes in between. Freestyle and breast stroke are completely gone from the log, although they make up most of the training units. I’m not able to verify that the units labelled as “zurück” and “butterfly” really were done in the style my Race logged them, but the lanes (or groups of lanes) labelled “apnoe” go on and on for the rest of the log. Even back stroke lanes are underrepresented. This is so messed up that it’s unusable. Third, the lane count, which was much too high in versions 2.40.44 and 2.43.12 is now much too low (1.600 m for me, as opposed to 2.000 m for other swimmers in my training group, mostly using Garmin and Polar watches). Prior to 2.40.44, the distance my Race logged was similar to those of others in my training group. Not a good basis for a correct training log and the calculations for training effects etc., Suunto team, please fix this ASAP. I’m even going back to my old Garmin Fenix 6, that I ditched for other reasons, because I’m competing in a triathlon event in a few days and want to have an accurate swim log.

Usually if the battery runs low my Race S comes with “Trainierst du bald?”. Not so yesterday. I looked at the battery state by chance and it was at about 11%. I thought, okay, I charge it in the morning. Next day I woke up a bit late and watch greeted me with a “charge now symbolic”. Probably because of low battery my watch hasn’t vibrated to wake me. After charging it and syncing to Suunto App, I can see that my heart rate has been tracked right before the point I woke up, My Resources stopped about half an hour earlier. However the complete night is missing in sleep tracking. Not just the segment after my watch decided that it has a too low charge. Why on eath has Suunto App - or the watch - decided to completely skip sleep tracking and not just take the already recorded part and skip the rest? Is there a way to get the missing data?

@gdimos from memory (this may have changed) you needed at least three runs, which had at least 20 mins minimum of good quality HR data each in order to generate a VO2 Max. Not possible by walking/hiking alone. It may be a daft question, but have you had three of those?

Hi, I waited a while before reporting this, but I think sleep needs to be tweaked a bit more because afaic it doesn’t recognize well when I’m awake and when I’m asleep. For example, last night I helped a friend who had surgery, and it wasn’t an easy night. I stayed awake to assist him from ~11:30 p.m. to ~4:00 a.m., and the watch didn’t recognize the awake interval at all (which happens often). Head and tail were ok though. [image: 1757232245314-signal-2025-09-07-095425.png] My std sleep interval is set to 9.30pm to 6.15am

@MKPotts, it’s a 9 Peak Pro. Not sure it’s the update that caused the issue, TBH. Just trying to figure out what caused it. I’ve sent it to Suunto for repair. I’ll post their feedback here.

@timecode I did check and unfortunately can’t help. I don’t see any issues on the cloud end. Different case. @adrian-suunto Suunto 9 Baro has limited storage size, your workout data may be already overwritten by newer workouts data. IIRC you can check that by open the workout on the watch and see if workout summary has charts (like HR graph). If no then it’s the workout data is gone from the watch. So if it failed to sync from the watch to mobile app then it’s unlikely we can do anything.

@Egika Hi, I’m also waiting for Suunto to get moving and expand its range of applications dedicated to kitesurfing!! Today, nothing is offered and there is no way to connect your watch to the surfr application.

Hello, today we noticed this issue on my wifes 5 Peak. Unfortunatelly it has already 2.5 year so it is not under warranty anymore. And she is light user, and not wearing it while washing dishes, showering, sleeping etc. Only around 9hours a day during working days only and then while cycling/hiking but thats few times a month. @Danny-poleg I don’t use it normally but now i tried and it works like this: I scroll to media control screen, it shows Media not found. I see back, play, forward icons. They do nothing. But controls are always there. I opened youtube on phone and started play video. It still shows Media not found on watch, but now play icon changed to pause icon. By pressing upper right button I can stop playback of video. By pressing again it starts playing again. By bottom right button I can switch to next video. By longpress of bottom right button I can switch to volume control. By longpress upper right button I can switch to previouse video (or to begining of video).

Interesting take! A lightweight Suunto with Stryd support would be a game-changer for runners. I doubt they’ll add it, but if they did, I’d consider it too. The T6c was legendary—2000 miles is impressive!

@sky-runner as far as I learned over the last weeks this is the correct forum for your suggestions and feedback. As I learned as well there are some persons in here that work for Suunto or beta test for them, so I guess it will reach them…

@Sébastien-S Logically, the next day it’s a new activity. There have already been various ideas discussed here on the forum about grouping/combining similar activities to somehow have aggregate statistics. https://forum.suunto.com/topic/12236/resume-later-feature/17

Notifications is the only one for me. There are 2 issues with the ‘do not disturb’ option in an activity: When you enable it for an activity it then doesn’t disable after the activity finishes. When you enable it you block not only general notifications but also all activity-specific notifications such as auto lap, above/below zone and structured workout alerts. The other item I would have added to this list is disabling the display - but that was added in a firmware update recently It’s great not having my watch light up a darkened room during a yoga cooldown

@maszop To stop an activity it is effectively two button press but one on the bottom one (pause to option screen) and then the middle button (stop activity). It is not so an accidental pattern, isn’t it?

@atoponce Exactly! Just imagine if you do 40x50m/50m intervals! The scrolling is necessary, really.

@HoBart Some watch faces have permanently on seconds and that doesn’t seem to drain the battery. I notice no different on my Vertical anyway.

@Watzi69 - I’m experiencing the same issue. I posted about it on Reddit, and one user suggested a temporary fix: uninstall all your Plus-Apps and try to resync. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me, but it might be worth a try! Please let us know if it works for you. In the meantime, I’ve reinstalled my application and am waiting for an official solution. Cheers!
