I just saw the new app. Suunto was already ahead of Garmin and Coros, and now they’ve pulled even further ahead. Fantastic work! I’ve been waiting for this for years.

I recently repeated a test on the same open water swimming route I had done before, where I had previously tracked the session with the watch on my wrist. This time, however, I placed the watch inside my swim buoy instead of wearing it, and the GPS tracking was flawless — very accurate throughout the session. This confirms that the Vertical(at least in my case) performs significantly worse when it’s worn on the wrist and goes in and out of the water. Some deviation is always expected in open water, but the level of inaccuracy I’ve been seeing lately — especially after the most recent firmware update — is far beyond what I’d consider acceptable. The only downside of placing the watch in the buoy was that I couldn’t record stroke count, SWOLF, or heart rate, since I didn’t have a second watch on my wrist. I was just wearing a basic Casio for time / stopwatch. -That’s the end of my tests (after soft reset, hard reset, protocol sequency for best GPS, correct swim technique, etc …) i hope an GNSS upgrade in the next software update. @Sascha-Domres said in Ocean firmware Q1/Q2 2025: @tinten.addi Unfortunately you are right… if already poorly functioning OHR sensors should be installed, the entire package should at least be right… unfortunately this is not the case with the ocean at all… no more development… Sorry but Suunto has to put up with the comparison with Garmin… what is better now than with the Fenix 8? I am definitely disappointed and unfortunately can no longer recommend Suunto… Why Fenix 8 and not Descent MK3i ?

A lot of cosmetic watch faces, but nothing relevant for the Suunto Ocean, as shown below.[image: 1753921989498-c5e8559b-fea8-416b-9819-85b153fbb2a3-1_all_39053.jpg]

Hi, for quite some time now, my Suunto Wing hasn’t been working properly in the app. I can’t adjust any settings within the application, and under the ‘Functions’ section, a completely blank screen appears. Has anyone else experienced this issue? What could be the problem?

Hi! I have an Amazefit Balance watch which does broadcast the HR during a workout or when I activate the HR App on the watch. I am using an Android Phone (Xiaomi 12 Pro / HyperOS 2.0.5.0) and the Sports Tracker App (Version 5.1.7). Strava and Bergfex can connect to the watch via Bluetooth and show the heart rate. I guess this is then using Bluetooth LE (BLE) and the generic heart rate protocol defined in that standard. But the Sport Tracker App can’t connect. The help tells me that it should work with all BT Smart compatible devices. BT Smart is the old name of BLE, so it should work in my opinion. I am using Sport Tracker since years and it would be nice to get also the heart rate into the App to get better calories calculation, now that I have a watch. Using Strava or Bergfex is no real option, because those Apps are not as good as Sport Tracker. BR, Jasmin
