@Egika those running metrics are far superior in something like the head than in very moving one arm. It is explained in that video. That is also a reason with PODs exist in other brands or chest straps with POD features. And pod features could also be improved in a future firmware update. An analogy is running with an HR chest strap. It’s better than the wrist sensor and if you are running with the strap, is because you do want the metrics of the strap. It has no sense to have 2 activities in that scenario. Watch’s metrics should be avoided when running with the Spark paired (in my opinion the contrary is clearly a bug once you have both products in the same workout)

I’ve never found a chest strap that’s comfortable enough for me during long runs. I’ve been using the Polar Verity Sense for quite a while now, I wear the band on my upper forearm. It’s comfortable, accurate, solid battery life (I charge it twice a month) and it works great with my Vertical

@Blaz-Kelbl Hi. All the watches I have used (Suunto, Garmin, Polar) cannot measure heart rate from the wrist properly. Sometimes they succeed very well and sometimes very bad. Heart rate belt is the only way if you need/want exact reading. Best Regards Pasi

@Doron-G I have a few of these but they are gone from Suunto store. I would try to check Suunto outlets/dealers.

ah okay, thanks for the replies. That is unfortunate. It happened twice already that I didn’t manually switch to the other device (i switch between the two every day so they can properly dry before I use them again) and I only got pulse based heart rate without zonesense for the activity.

After days of using Race 2 HRV i decided to give a try to Suunto Chest Strap again. Yesterday on shopping i bought new CR2025 batteries different brand (Energizer) I put new battery to strap. Wet electrodes of strap. Connected strap with Race 2 succesfully + get strap on my chest. 100% Chest strap battery. I DIDNT start exercise. I just took off chest strap + I took off sensor from belt, everything was laying separate. Next day I started exercise with strap - it was magically 20% batttery left before I started to run. Lost 80% during 24h without using it and having sensor taken off from belt with dry strap so its impossible it could work anyway + battery should last 500h. Next day I started running exercise with 20% battery in sensor, ended up and magically Race2 shows it got 30% battery left Did 40 minutes gym session - still 30% battery. Now i know its not batteries fault. Its sensor from strap/Race2 software that reads wrong battery status or problems with connecting BT. or watch itself. Its my probably last try and post, just wanted to give a info

@thanasis I also had the explorer strap on my 9B. Fantastic strap which lasts for ever! I still have it and should try and fit the narrower pins from the V2.

@TED77 The above are all true and useful. One other thing to keep in mind is there is no ANT+ which is useful if you are using a bike computer. Also you can only have one BT connection at a time vs the HRM Pro will allow 2 simultaneous connections.

@sky-runner said in Suunto Athletics 7 loop strap: @v.sacre This looks like a common problem. I have the same strap, and the metallic part also detached after just a few weeks of use. I put it back and squeezed it with pliers, and so far, many weeks later, it stays attached. But I should say that overall I am disappointed with this strap and will not buy another one. The main problem is that it quickly stretched out and lost some of original elasticity. The longer strap is now borderline too long for me, but the short strap is too short. Next time I’ll buy Garmin Ultrafit strap which is higher quality and more comfortable. I also used Abanen hook and loop strap from Amazon with Race and still use with Race S. Even inexpensive Abanen strap is higher quality, in my opinion, than this Suunto strap. Longer strap is too long for me, I mean this metal part is too close to watch case. Short is too short like You said. I chooses to use short and over time it’s scratched out and its longer over time of use. But I agree. A bit expensive for this type of strap. I would buy 3, maybe 4 of them for same price without logo.

Have this strap since a few days now. Its great that it is much lighter, but the Race S is getting a little bit head-heavy. Its okay, but I wouldn’t use it with heavier watches. For Run and Race S Titanium its a perfect fit. I didn’t like it at the beginning as it was stiff, but wearing it made it softer. From my experience its not better for OHR per se, but I like that you can tighten easily during ther run. As I noticed cadence lock today running downhill a quick tightening of the strap resolved it in seconds. Long answer short: It helps in certain situations Edit: @Hari-Seldon: Black one is still sold out, so I got Coral. Love the colour
