    Hi, Suunto’s usage of AI in support is out of control. I avoid the chat as it never helped me anyway on the few occations I tried it. But email Support has been quite good so far - at least for me. Yesterday I emailed about a topic that bothered me for a while now: In my personal record page in the iOS Suunto app the 5km and 10km records are actual runs that have been more or less exactly that distance. My 10km record is even slower than the time it took to finish my last nearly 10km race. That said, the record for my half marathon is linked to an activity that is only 20.3km. This run also got the half marathon tag that I removed since… I have never done a half marathon race, yet. Only some long runs that have been 21km and longer. Those have been my personal records until that 20km race. What can be done about this? Now their response: Thank you for reaching out and for the detailed explanation. It sounds like you’re experiencing an issue where your personal records in the iOS Suunto app don’t accurately reflect your longest distances, specifically, your half marathon record being linked to a 20.3 km activity despite having completed longer runs. Step 2: Go to your Personal Records section in the app and check if there is an option to manually update or edit the records. This may allow you to assign the correct activity to your half marathon record. Step 3: If manual editing is not available, we recommend contacting Suunto Support with details of the affected activities. We can further investigate and assist in correcting the records if possible. Step 4: As a workaround, you may remove the incorrect half marathon tag (as you’ve already done) and assign the tag to a more accurate activity that reflects your actual performance. Please let us know if you need any further assistance. Firstly, they got the problem wrong. Then there are some suggestions that are not possible in the app and to my knowledge never have been, like editing on the personal records page or adding a half marathon tag. And if the first reply is just AI generated, why does it take 14 hours to answer? This is just a waste of time and resources. And it gives a bad impression about the support.

    I’d add a firmware version to this, but it’s been present through the last 3 updates so…here we go. At seeming random cause and timing, the altimeter will refuse to let me calibrate it. I know my home elevation down to sub-foot accuracy (long story, son of a surveyor), so I calibrate the watch if I ever notice it too off, because I use the barometer readings for weather forecasting constantly. At random times, the Run will revert back to its erroneous reading seconds after calibrating…and will continue to do so until I either record a GNSS based activity, or restart the watch. What’s odd is the altimeter isn’t stuck (locked on a elevation reading), its just offset and I can’t calibrate that. If I change in elevation when its doing that (which is NOT all the time), it will track the change correctly, just not give the right actual reading. What I can’t figure out is what causes it—it’s started this immediately after tracking an activity sometimes, started it overnight while I’m asleep, started it after washing the watch, and sometimes randomly after none of these things. And it’s persisted intermittently through 3 firmware versions, and a hard reset…

    @aenzed okay thank you for your input. This weekend i’m starting on reading a garmin sensor, should not be too hard. But this limit of 2 sensors is really wild. If one cycles with: speed cadance power heart rate sensor, we are 2 times in the blue. Suunto should really up this number, with just a note/popup that power consumption will go up because of the number of connected devices. That is totally acceptable. Suunto users understand as well that GPS can be configured less precise for less power consumption.

    @Svenning That’s true, but you’re left without music because there’s no MP3 option on the headphones, and if you don’t have your phone with you, you need a different BLUETOOTH player to listen to music.

    @Christoph-Van-Laethem In here the bubble appears : https://www.suunto.com/fr-fr/Assistance/ I realized that the bubble doesn’t come on when using my main browser (Firefox), probably due to the ad blockers I added, so i use Edge only for Suunto support
