@leonidas I feel you as I’m currently have both Garmin and Suunto… But so is the way with software: it never is bug free. There are ways to avoid bugs or the reappearance of them, like test driven development. But unless you have a simple app, you cannot test all combinations of installations and settings or use cases someone might have. And TBF the accent color of a hand is not a major bug…

I’ve just taken delivery of a Race with a custom Canyon Orange strap, so hopefully the lack of negative responses into this thread are proof that I’ve done the right thing!

@Strajamoned I slightly lowered the zones for cycling and forget it. Anyway, during my last ride, Zone Sense detected my aerobic threshold at the same value as when running.

@Elipsus “its more about being resilient if USA decides to reduce the capabilities of its “public” GPS, or completly turns it off.” That’s what I was talking about. Before 2000 this was the situation: https://www.gps.gov/systems/gps/modernization/sa/data/ Now, imagine that we went back to it, and I think it’ s not impossible so I think it’s a scenario worth thinking about and prepared to. What would happen to GNSS accuracy who use GPS and Galileo?

@Stefano-M64 Hi thanks - are you 100% sure about this? It does read that way in menus but its not how it works based on mine and other commenter experience. If so - which FW are you on? I will try to reset the watch and see if it helps EDIT: You were right, thanks again. watch restart fixed the issue.

@ChrisA It was all black. But I think it’s because of the loaded track, maybe it had some problem. With other tracks it worked fine. Thanks

@dankcushions Thanks for the clarifications. However, I stand by what I said—OHR is garbage for sports across all brands and models, except for a lucky few whose physiology happens to align perfectly with their wearable for somewhat decent approximations. My point was simply in response to someone stating that HR is crucial. If it’s crucial, then you cannot rely on OHR for sports, regardless of the brand or model.

This has been reported here but AFAIK there isn’t a solution yet. https://forum.suunto.com/topic/12593/pool-swim-interval-duration-totally-wrong?_=1742226125341

Yeah, I was reacting to this very phenomenon today. Using the watch as a regular watch outside an activity, the ‘always on’ face became totally dark in the sunlight, but then brightened significantly when stepping indoors. I thought: “The programmers must have reversed the sensor logic!” - i.e. this being a bug. But I don’t know… I’ve seen it at times in a running activity while angling the watch towards the sun, but since I use the brightest setting and run in the mornings in a gloomy Sweden those times have not been frequent. I imagine the coming spring and summer will make me more irritated though… Perhaps I’ll have to switch over to the Garmin FR955 with MIP screen then.

@Jan-Suchánek There is power management in Ultra mode with the GPS chip so the recording interval will likely vary depending on the connection. The GPS fix will try every second but every second may not be recorded.

@Bert your Can measure distance only if you start an activity, otherwise it’s just steps.
