Also, some watch faces are less bright than others. I am quite OK with Athletics watch faces. Yep, that was first thing I did (just like turn off crown vibration) when launched Race

@karmazynowycukiereczek said in Disappointing launch: @Egika Do you have any information about what it will contain? Because I don’t know whether to wait or sell Race? I cannot tell you if the coming changes and fixes will change things for you. If you are not happy at all with your Race today, I think you better sell it and check an alternative for you. If you follow-up the coming updates you can then re-think your decision.

@cosme-costa I have a very similar view as you do. And like you say for some people a smartwatch would be a better option and I don’t get why they don’t buy one and buy an outdoor watch instead. It’s only my opinion but I suppose it is because it looks cool to have an outdoor watch. And then those people complain that the display is not so bright (red is not red on an MIP display etc) and steps are not counted perfectly and so on. I get it’s good for Suunto that there are people like this. But at same time - buy what you need. For many people the Apple watch is the best option available if you are not into sports that much.

@Theo-Lakerveld said in Software update 2.30.32: According to my opinion, the S9P is WAY MORE beautiful. I really like the S9P design. I also think the SSU that I used before the S9P was nicer. But that’s irrelevant and subjective. I agree it is subjective, and I also agree with your „ranking“. The SSU, S9B Ti, S9P and S9PP had much cleaner looks than their successors SV and SR. I am probably very picky, I already did not like the bezel of the S9B non-Ti, so I don’t find it irrelevant . I know Suunto cannot please everyone but I’m surprised how the latest models look, and I hope there will be cleaner models again. It would be nice to have a chat with the Suunto Design department, just out of curiosity.

Hi @all! I just want to give a little feedback after a while. I was out on several longer mountaineering trips during the last weeks. The missing breadcrumb issue is solved imho. Thank you very much for fixing this, suunto vertical now was a perfect companion for all my trips and a worthy successor of my ambit peak 3. I can recommend it to everybody who is looking for a watch for mountaineering. Even one of my team mates noticed that the display works super good in bright sunlight. So I am super happy with it. If you use full gps and the map display most of the time ( which I usually do), battery lasts for about 25 hrs. So you can do one longer tour of 12-15 hrs + your way to the mountain hut the day before. If you want to do more trips in a row, it’s better to have the possibility to recharge (I have the non-solar version). But hey, that’s totally OK for me and I am happy that vertical now covers most of my needs. It is a good and powerful tool for mountaineering after the issues, I had with it during the first months of use, are now sorted out. So have fun with it!

I have been wearing watches (suunto race) for a week 24/7 - haven’t seen anything like sleep tracking as such. (I already reset watches because after recent software update because, all hr and bo sensors stopped working), now - no sleep tracking. HR sensors shows 45-50 in the morning, however no sleep tracking, I have default rest HR settings, sleep tracking on, dnd of.

@dankcushions Thanks for the clarifications. However, I stand by what I said—OHR is garbage for sports across all brands and models, except for a lucky few whose physiology happens to align perfectly with their wearable for somewhat decent approximations. My point was simply in response to someone stating that HR is crucial. If it’s crucial, then you cannot rely on OHR for sports, regardless of the brand or model.

@David-l said in Proposal to change UI for Suunto Race: I’d really like the ability to turn off vibration alert for notifications but still have it on for laps whilst in sport mode. Oh and be able to read the screen with just 2 data fields please seconding this: having the vibration on in sports mode is very useful, as when you train in quite noisy environments it’s quite difficult hearing beeps… It could be also useful having the possibility to change (most of the time: increase) the volume of sound alerts during sport modes.

Yeah, I’ve had similar issues with my Fenix 7 miscounting laps, especially in a busy pool. Super frustrating when you’re trying to track your progress accurately. I’ve heard Suunto’s lap tracking is a bit more reliable, so I might give it a shot. A friend who swims regularly in their Silverline Pools setup mentioned they had better luck with certain watches, so maybe it also depends on the environment. Guess it’s all about finding the right combo.

This aged badly. 25min later putting the watch back on doesn’t start the HR sensor. Toggling power saving On and back Off brings it back to life. Software seems trigger happy to power save, yet not recognise when watch is back on… despite using the watch (crown, buttons etc.) and having skin contact. Can only hope 2.35.34 is followed up with a bug fix in August…

@Highlands My Race got replaced with a new one (under warranty) which I got on Tuesday. Went pretty fast. Everything’s going great with my new Race.
