Suunto Race unresponsive for around 5 days
-
Hey,
I just wanted to see if anyone has any experiences similar to mine.
When I forget to charge my Suunto race and there is nothing left in the battery it takes about 5 - 7 days before it does anything. I will leave it on charge for 3 days and nothing. Strangely after around 5 days it wakes up with the charge icon. This has happened a few times now, the 1st time I actually sent it back to Suunto after a week and embarrassingly it charged straight away.
Sadly it is now approaching a week and its still not waking up and I’m just getting bit bored with it now.
I have 3 chargers and it’s not them, I have cleaned the sensors, I have forced reset to try and get it to wake up ( 12 - 30 seconds top right button ) and nothing.
Many thanks in advance.

@leejohnmann
I’d suggest to not regularly drain the battery down below 20%, let alone to zero and don’t allow it spend time in that state.
If you use your watch only occasionally, then power it down after each use.Settings > General > Power off

@Squirrel I don’t normally, it was just accidental. Still not back on. Any suggestions on how to get it back on? Many thanks

3 Suunto watch chargers (the wire with magnet plug) or 3 wall USB chargers?
If it is the latter, maybe your cable is faulty or the way the magnet are sticking to the watch. Maybe clean the charging contacts both side. -

To eliminate the possibility of bad contact, you could connect it “directly” if you are handy with wires.
Below picture was posted as a joke in another thread, but in this case it would ensure connectivity. You could also monitor power consumption with USB power meter, if you have one, to see what’s going on, if anything.
In any case, if the battery fails to accept charging current, the cell voltage might be below threshold level and only service center could reset it. Battery replacement might be the last resort option, if all else fails.
