Suunto Race Titanium - Digital crown button push
-
Finally received the SRT, has any one had issues with button presses of the digital crown i.e. select menu items, not doing anything? There are certain rotated positions of the crown where you can press the button, but it’s like the button will not go all the way in, so the UI won’t react to the click (although you can hear the “click”) Then if you rotate the crown to a different position, apply the same clicking force it works fine. It’s like the crown isn’t set properly at certain positions?

@colinmacdon Sounds odd, did you update the firmware? This should be a forced update. If so, try a soft reset (hold the upper button in until the watch face goes black, you should feel a vibration as well).
let us know if it is working ok after this -
@Brad_Olwin It updated the firmware as soon as I powered it up. Just tried a reboot. Same issue. It’s behaving, like for example the crown is at the 12 o’clock position–it won’t click properly. If I rotate the crown to say 3, it will click fine–noticeably different. If I rotate it back to 12, won’t click.
Tried to capture it here, you can notice the second time I go into the control panel, it works no problem.

@colinmacdon the only answer from the Community to all problems ist: Press the Button and make a soft reset. What a bad feeling!!! Hey but we have a new Watch in market – If your watch dont work fine buy the new model … Some bugs in the Vertical (Release in Mai) are not better until today… For example the Countdown from Recovery time… No Update… And when i see now the software Problems in the Race then Hope the Vertical will not got this Software too

@Brad_Olwin This has to be a hardware problem. Another clip, you can’t reliably scroll through data screens on a workout unless, rotating the crown to find a spot that works.

@colinmacdon Absolutely an hardware problem. Something inside the watch is preventing the crown from working correctly.

@colinmacdon
looks like a defective encoder.
I recall you have waited quite long for your Race to arrive, but I would recommend to send it in and have it checked, repaired, replaced -
@colinmacdon Contact support, I think your watch needs to be replaced. Sorry as I know it took a long time to get one.

@Brad_Olwin yep, initiated the return.
