map : how to choose which one to download
-
@treizeXiii
French maps are named with administrative region names.
It is not ideal for sure, mainly when not knowing the places where we are going (I had the same “problem” when going to Spain.
If you need any help to choose your French maps, don’t hesitate to ask. -
If I search “Bretagne” the departement “Bretagne” is shown to download.
May be the towns are not searchable … in Germany I find only the departements and not the towns.

@Mff73 @pilleus
Thank you for your answer.The city I searched is in the departement “Vosges” et region “Grand Est”.
None of them is searchable in the app. The town is situated is the map named “Lorraine” ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I think I will have the same issue this summer for Germany
(I live in Belgium, so it’s easier : I downloaded “Belgium” ;))
Thank you
Yan

I would love to see this feature. Nearest location is already available, but search by name and/or search on map would be a welcome addition.
This makes it much easier to find the right region in a foreign country.
-
I think that improving the search is being investigated, and hopefully one day we will get a list of corresponding maps for any search, be it a region, a town, a mountain, or UTMB
-
@isazi This could be great because, at the moment, when I want to download the UTMB map, I have to manually select: Rhône-Alpes, Aosta Valley (found by browsing all available maps of Italy), and a complete map of Switzerland (while a tiny part is useful)
-
I really like my Vertical, and the maps are great.
But trying to find the region you need is for me possible the worst bit of the ecosystem.I’m cycling from Zagreb to Rotterdam in a few weeks and trying to fathom out what maps I need is a headache.
-
@Anthony-Guillemette have you tried writing “utmb” in the download map search?
-
@isazi well done
-
@Anthony-Guillemette still, more ways to find the right maps are necessary, and I hope they will come to the app.
