@Brad_Olwin Wouldn’t it make much more sense to have it all set up as an option. Then you can choose whether you want that or not. Just find it really weird that in this one area Suunto is way out of step with everyone else. Always going to be a personal preferance.

@GiPFELKiND You can connect the Suunto Race to a normal Wahoo trainer, or power meter. HOWEVER, the Wahoo ROLLR (if you have that specific model) is a quirky model in that it doesn’t support the regular Bluetooth Power Meter spec like all other Wahoo trainers/bikes, because it lacks a power meter (physical or estimated). Thus, Suunto can’t connect to it, because it doesn’t broadcast the standard BLE PM spec, but only the controllable side (FTMS). Now, if you were talking a regular Wahoo trainer, then it could connect to it as a power meter, but still not FTMS (as Suunto doesn’t connect to the Bluetooth FTMS standard for controlling trainers, just the power meter side). If you did have a 3rd party Suunto app that supported FTMS (I’m not aware of any, but perhaps one does), then you’d be in business. While some might think this would be the opportunity where I point out Suunto’s lack of sensor support/management being an issue, it actually isn’t. The FTMS standard is great, and some companies do support it on watches (Garmin/Wahoo for control/passive reading, Apple for passive reading, COROS for passive reading) - I actually think for control it’s a waste of time for wearables companies. 95%+ of consumers are doing trainer control with an app of some sort (TR/Zwift/etc…), so those people are covered. Meanwhile, passive is mildly useful - but even then, 95% of trainers broadcast the power signal via standard BLE power (except the ROLLR). Thus again, virtually everyone is covered. Where Suunto has the gap is multi-sensor management, and to a lesser extent if we were talking trainers, then ANT+ to deal with older trainers that don’t have multi-channel Bluetooth (since Suunto couldn’t access the BT channels if an app like Zwift is broadcasting it). Anyways…probably more than you were asking for in an answer.

@gtung3388 except for my first run, I’ve not noticed a difference in my HR, and definitely no jumping around. I do use a nylon strap so not sure if that has helped? But as others have said, if you want an accurate HR then you’ll have to use a strap. This morning’s run is below, quite consistent with the inclines/declines - the dips are when we’ve stopped. @dave_h-iking the sleep summary may have caused my Vertical crash this week. My morning wake up alert happened at the same time with sleep summary pop-up. My alert was stuck, I couldn’t turn it off and finally the watch rebooted. There might be some correlation if bad things happen with the morning summary involved.

@Brad_Olwin good to know this. I have had more than 6 runs with total distance more than 80km, some intervals and some easy long runs but no estimates so far. Hope to see this new firmware update on Monday

@6294946 said in Can you import data from other platforms to Suunto app?: @duffman19 Oh so this explains a lot. I’ve been very puzzled by the different tss numbers from apple watch vs suunto vertical… Use Healthfit for the Apple Watch and set your zones in Healthfit to be the same as SA. Alternatively the AW will sync to Sporttracks and your activities will automatically be in SA. Sporttracks will not sync Power data from AW but Healthfit will.

@bre-ja said in Rucking setup?: Hey guys, I need help to properly setup the right sport profile for rucking.I just bought SR and weighted west and plan to start with 10kg.What would be the best way to setup workout? I’d use hiking or walking profiles. I personally use 2-3 data screens…first for lap related info (lap pace, lap time, lap distance, lap ascent) second for totals (avg pace, duration, distance, ascent)

@Marius-Jacobsen-Eggerud said in Weekly summary treadmill missing: @pilleus That is a workaround, but in my mind not how the clock should work. Well sadly sometimes it is the only way. When I go for a walk with my kids a choose mountaineering as walking activity screws up the VO2max.

Update…I discovered why!! It doesn’t depend on the WiFi connection, but on the smartphone’s GPS sensor, which I usually keep off. Without GPS sensor, the weather widget is not updated. I thought that in any case the SA would adjust itself at least with the last known position… but it’s fine anyway

@Shuhite said in Suunto Race Display brightness in Performance Mode: @SuuntoR Sorry, you are correct. It dims, but in my case it’s still easily readible, unless I’m in bright sun (which is rare where I live this time of the year, I didn’t have Amoled in the summer). The Suunto Race AOD is proper AOD. …and I was also wrong. This “true always on display” seems only to work when it’s dark enough. I hadn’t ran in the day time until today. So it seems to use ambient sensor or something. In the day on workout mode, the display also on SR dims. But I think the numbers are clear also when it dims (where I live also not that sunny anymore) and little wrist turn works quickly. Its been couple of months since I had an amoled Garmin watch, so it was more sunny. But still I would say Garmin watches dim more than SR, or maybe I remember wrong and being too harsh on Garmin about this feature pictures with SR on full brightness and “dim mode” attached. @doncarlo in the app there are different maps available, even a wintermap, dedicated for planning with slope angles. I find it very useful and the map in the watch is great to have an intuitive possibility to navigate in the mountains. I was also suggesting to collaborate with swiss topo, but I like this solution that we have a lot, as it is unified and the same for every place in the world
