Does it make sense to have Vertical and Race?
-
Hello everyone, sorry for my English (google translate)
I would like to understand with you if it makes sense to have both watches… Suunto Vertical and Race.
Let me start by saying that I am very happy with my Vertical, I currently only use it for training and “long” runs.
For the rest I use the S7, work, indoor training, sleeping etc…
I’m attracted to the Race but I don’t want to buy it and I would send my Vertical into retirement.
I await advice…
Thank you in advance -
@MeazzaS9 I have both because I test them. The differences in what they do is small. The screens are very different and the Race has a Crown. I would not purchase the Race if I had the Vertical.

I have the SV that I wear h24 :
« One to rule them all » !More seriously I would not keep the vertical if I’d take the race (but it won’t happen, I love my SV)

I have been teast-wearing both Race and Vertical at the same time nor for some weeks.
If it wasn’t for this reason, I would now have retired the Vertical and only use the Race.

@Brad_Olwin Unfortunately with the S7 I don’t have all the parameters that I would have with the Race - sleep, steps (correct) etc… but I also imagine that having the Race I wouldn’t always use the vertical (I don’t want this)

@freeheeler I’ll try to resist the temptation to have an updated Amoled Suunto…
All days I will wait for the new entry level of Suunto if it ever arrives.
In fact it doesn’t make much sense if you’re not a professional -
@MeazzaS9 I have owned them both thinking I’d keep both. End of the day got rid of Vertical since they were so similar but I do prefer the crown, Race has been slightly tweaked design wise where the lugs sit better on the wrist, and I do prefer the Amoled display. Glad we have both options.

I’m using both. I’m using the race as my daily watch and for sleep tracking. I wear it at work and for my normal running and strength workouts. I switch to the vertical when going out into rougher terrain where I don’t have worry about scratches and stuff like when Rock climbing and bouldering and or climbing inside. That said I’m mostly using the vertical over the weekend and race during the week.
App integration with both watches works great and I’m pretty happy with both and like the option to be able to switch. I really like the look of the vertical. It’s a beautiful watch. But for office and work the race is more appropriate imo

@BastMaSVSRS9PP That’s what I would use it for
office and indoor Race training.
Trail running and vertical trekking.
but I’m not fully convinced
