Soft reset seems to have fixed the issue somewhat. Clearly a memory management issue, which seems to be a recurring issue with these watches. A bit surprising that there is no warning mechanism for this sort of thing.

@Mff73 all new users need to go through our approval to post, and if we think it’s just generated content it gets deleted. Something may still go through, but the amount of spam on th forum has gone way down since we started this.

@Kloppite nope, I was reluctant to wait the repair to conclude, so I just changed my theme to white and forgot the dead pixels are there. The surface grew a bit over the time but the watch is still very usable.

@Karolina-Bigaj When the watch reinstalls the same firmware, it does a „hard reset“ and then the „exercise memory“ is wiped. I think what happened is an acceptable way of „recovery“, and your data have been safe (in the app). But, as @sartoric wrote, this should not happen out of the blue, and not often, so contact support.

@pilleus said in Minimal charging cable / adapter: @fv4500 said in Minimal charging cable / adapter: a “single piece” charger As long as there is no USB C plug, it is difficult, because in the picture the two contacts on every laptop would point downwards and on many chargers they would be vertical. The magnets are rather weak, so the watch has to lie on top. Yes! I didn’t realized that, you have a fantastic eye! . Hope this terrible idea helps a bit @outdoorrama to find something useful for their hikes.

@carolinewalsh I had this problem a couple of weeks ago. Suunto advised a hard reset, and that worked.

@freeheeler Yes, that was on. I’ve turned it off. The setting is found at Settings > Activity > Daily HR Thanks for your help. David.

@MiniForklift I went a similar route with the Baro 9 < Peak 9 (loved the quicker charge over the Baro but missed the larger screen) < Vertical Solar. The Vertical has that robust feel of the Baro, the GPS lock is exceptionally faster, and it charges about 3 times quicker. I also appreciate the standardized lug of 22mm as it makes it much easier to find bands. I have been happy with it so far.

@ScholtzR about the reading from the strap, there is something wrong with the strap. Without knowing the model I would not know what to suggest, except to change batteries. About the issue with the OHR, there is no place in Suunto that I know in which irregular heart rate is detected, there are no health features of this kind. And it is possible to turn off the OHR module during activity from the start screen, and in daily mode disabling H24 monitoring.

@AndTheCarpenter actually there is no need to delete the logbook after syncing. The watch will take care of the available memory and delete logbook entries automatically if needed for new recordings.

@Sean-Marshall I answered this in a different post, unlikely to see new features coming to this watch and the hardware will not support the newest operating system. The only watch in the 9 family that is still getting updates is the 9Peak Pro, which had similar hardware to the Race and the Vertical.

@Sean-Marshall The development for the Suunto 9 will most likely be limited to any outstanding bug fixes. I doubt you will see new features coming to this watch as the hardware will not support it.

It would be useful to start an activity at the end of a countdown.

@Oktan I agree, I’ve been fighting since I bought it with support, from 2020. I joined this forum just to see if I’m the only one and if there is a solution. I have the 9 baro, I use it on a dinghy sail boat, they are always at unsuitable heights or -25m or +30. I’m thinking of selling it.

@dzaziz Low and high refer to backlight intensity, not sensitivity of arm movement.

@soudabeh-shahrah try pushing the upper right button for about 12 seconds. If that doesn’t work, put the watch on the charger for a while and try again. Still nothing…then I suggest to contact Suunto support.

@Antoine with suuntolink and with this (never tried myself though). But it is a shipping mode, and maybe it will reset your watch (need confirmations from one who know)
