I just bought a Suunto Race and I’m experiencing similar issues but pause, play and forward buttons work most of the time. The volume control never works… Shows the volume diagram but doesn’t respond to volume changes. I’m also noticed that there’s some clash between the new live tracking feature and the volume controls in general. I’m on an Oneplus Nord 4 with Android 15… Quite frustrating… And the old Polar pacer pro I had never had any issue with music controls with the same phone. In parallel when connected to the new live tracking app - with suunto plus - it happens that music controls are greyed out. Also cannot get my device ID to be identified in the live tracking portal…

There is a known issue with the drops to 0w originally reported for the Race S but I think now also reported for the Race and the Vertical. I know what you mean regarding the 10s response time with the in-built power but I’ve not noticed this (or the 10w difference) on my Race S even though I am seeing the drops to 0w. I’ll pay more attention to power rate of update on my run tomorrow. There’s some confusion whether the issue is a display bug or a bluetooth problem or something else. I’ve tried to test whether it’s related to the environment but have not found any patterns. FYI, the original issue on the Race S was reported very quickly after the latest firmware update so the conversation about it is in that topic.

@Shlomo-Sackstein Hi, so did you do anything to the watch in the end? I have similar experience with my S9P recently. Basically at first it had the same symptoms as yours, 50%-60% then suddenly prompt for recharge. Then I tried to calibrate the charge calculation by discharging (painfully as it keeps shutting down under 50%) it to near 0% then recharging to full. The percentage during daily usage became more consistent from 99% to 10% however the actually battery capacity was still quite low, and was degrading quickly, maybe only 20% of the original capacity. The watch is being sent to support for checking. (More updates: Support replaced battery two days later)

Merci ! Björn

Hi all! My Android mobile phone can connect and be paired with my Suunto 5, but it keeps on pairing once both devices are connected. Obviously, no performance data is automatically synced. The app and softwares are updated. What might be the problem? Thanks!

Interesting take! A lightweight Suunto with Stryd support would be a game-changer for runners. I doubt they’ll add it, but if they did, I’d consider it too. The T6c was legendary—2000 miles is impressive!

@Stefano-M64 correct. As most phones can also connect USB memory sticks, they are able to power them. And: Afaik there is a European regulation about chargers, that require them to be USB-C This is why Suunto Run has a USB-C charger. And upcoming new models as well.

Underwater precision is not the issue. Pressure changes magnitudes bigger than in the atmosphere with altitude. It is the total detection range of the sensor that is limiting it. You have a fixed bit resolution of the sensor in total. To get high precision altitude resolution, you need to waste a lot of bits for under water. With S9PP this has been re-dialed. Not so for older models. Any extension under water will reduce resolution above.

@Francesco-Pagano said in Which UI layout do you prefer? (S9PP/SV users): I voted for “other” because with time, I am getting used to the new UI and I believe it would be nice to just add one more widget to left-swipe. I selected “other” for the same reason. A possibility to pin more than one widget and move between them horizontally like in the old UI would be great.

I’d also be interested to know as I too suffer from this (last time I was tested they recorded around 1500 ectopic beats over a 24 hour period). I’m lucky enough to suffer from both atrial fibrillation which is probably connected to aortic stenosis. I’m anticipating a stent will be on the cards for me over the coming decade or two I don’t use HR for my training and I haven’t yet used HRV, but will definitely keep an eye on this thread as I may implement the HRV recording in the future

@Maryn a major flaw of “manual intervals” is that rest screen doesn’t show a distance but time. In some cases distance is more useful

@far-blue said in Better responsiveness/faster UI: I rarely notice any lag on my Race S. I’m sure the balance between responsiveness and battery and memory usage is a fine one. Certainly clocking the processor faster will burn more battery and caching of data, while good for reducing processing needs, is always a tradeoff between performance and stale data. If you are referring mostly to the scrolling of the widget list do remember you can disable widgets you don’t use and you can re-order widgets to move the ones you access most often to the top of the list so there’s less need to scroll Thats what i have. Most important widgets at top of list or at shortcuts by holding buttons (upper/down)

I am looking for something similar to start stop recording or taking photos on the iPhone. I have a little bluetooth switch for that but often forget about it. Would be cool to control it from the watch. I use the phone on a gorillapod to record all sorts of stuff like playing guitar, MTB, Groundhandling with my Paraglider…

@mando said in Suunto navigation tendency to auto-reverse route when it shouldn't. Bug or misguided feature?: Sometimes it gets confused when the first and last parts of the route are the same and there’s a loop. It thinks I’m going backwards on the loop instead of forwards as planned — but it usually catches up after a while. I had exactly same problem few weeks ago. It’s annoying. My route was same for there and back with loop between. I started the activity and after few meters I got “you’re in finish” alert. Whyyyy? So stupid bug, if the watch know already walked distance… The map was OK, but the line on elevation profile was showing from the end to the start . Everything else seems fine, ETA, ETE… I returned Fenix 7Pro because of bugs, but the Race starts to surprise me a lot with these bugs. YEah … but remind the reminder Some products can also track moon phases based on the date you have set on your product. Do not use the moon phase functionality to estimate or forecast tides in situations where your safety is at risk. Always check also for other available information sources and play it safe.

Yes, you need Moveslink1, https://www.suunto.com/Support/software-support/moveslink/ , scroll down to Quest/M4/M5 . And it was working fine for me few months ago: [image: 1599342226937-screenshot_20200906-004157_chrome.jpg]
