@matteo_000 I am also a little upset by this behavior after my first spring ride with the new Vertical 2 ️ Special display/map setting for bike would definitely be very beneficial.

@Finnjf After 2 runs with the Vertical 2 I can confirm that while the difference is not that prominant it still is a bit more close to what I’ve known with other watches. And the GPS track looks so freaking good - aligned with where I ran almost in centimeters. This is of course with the weather being sunny these past 2 days. I’ll run tomorrow again with the Race 2 on a nice weather and compare.

I’ve also noticed a kinda rare 10 minute delayed alarm on the Vertical 2. One time I was already awake and was curious why the alarm didn’t go off and eventually it went off with a 10 minute delay. (The alarm was set for the correct time)

@reijervanrijsbergen I’m having the exact same issue. It’s further complicated by GNSS jamming. I’ve noticed that once the heart rate signal is lost, it doesn’t always recover, even when the watch is worn directly on my wrist rather than over a jacket. Coros HRM + Suunto Race S.

Suunto please look into this. Give an option to turn off buzz on connect maybe? I’m getting a bunch on my new PP9 and seem to have no reason for them. Supper wasn’t helpful

Apologies if this isn’t the right topic to be posting this issue but it is certainly pertinent to the use of external HR sensors with the Suunto Run. Putting aside the issues i have had with the Coros armband which i have posted about in that specific topic i have also experienced issues when using a chest strap. The HR graph normally looks absolutely fine as expected but i am usually given a different max heart rate in the run summary. [image: 1772494841112-screenshot_2026-02-22-18-21-23-970_com.stt.android.suunto.jpg] [image: 1772494883386-screenshot_2026-02-22-18-21-44-133_com.stt.android.suunto.jpg] This example is from a run where i chucked in three sprints and as the graph shows my heart rate doesn’t go above 180 which is inline with what i expect for the effort. With a chest strap the Heart rate summary seems to always be different to the graph. What’s odd is when using a chest strap, which works perfectly with my other watches, i get this max heart rate discrepancy and the synced data in Strava will show a mix of the correct max heart rate which is reflected in the Suunto produced graph or it will show what i’m sure is the incorrect max heart figure as produced in the Suunto app summary. There seems to be something going on here with the relationship between watch and external sensors and how the data is all displayed within the app. Is this something seen before on Suunto or unique to how they process the data? My experience with Suunto only extends to the use of the Suunto Run having used Garmin for years.

@Matthias-Urbanski Those belts are too old to work with the 9PP. They are ANT protocol belts used with much older watches T6 series and below. You need a Bluetooth transmitting belt.

I know that HR measurement at the wrist can be difficult and it is better to use a chest strap. However, even for normal walking (not even Nordic walking) I get horribly wrong measurements, e.g. yesterday the watch showed a maximum of 139 bpm in the afternoon, but an 24h-ECG (which should be 100% accurate) shows a maximum of 106 bpm in the morning (it is hard to search for the same time span). Anyhow, the difference is not acceptable! Yes the watch has correct settings (left arm) and is correctly attached to the wrist. What can I do? I need to track my pulse.

Good day, I have a Suunto Spartan Ultra and have had it for 8 years. From my last Samsung UI update my watch has not synced my daily steps with the Suunto app. I have tried the following but not success: Restart phone and watch. Reinstall Suunto App Force stop Suunto App Unpair watch from phones Bluetooth and reconnect. Gave all items on Suunto App permission. Made sure Suunto APP and phone is not on energy saving mode. If anyone has a solution please assist. Kind regards

I thought the Wahoo cycling cadence sensor would connect to the Suunto app easily being Bluetooth. Should it? It’s also not connecting to the Ambit3 watch.

I haven’t used my D5 since January; I got it out of the cupboard today to charge it as it’s dead, but I can’t remember how to attach the charger. I’ve searched the manual but it just says ‘attach’, it doesn’t explain how. There’s a red thing on the end of the cable which I seem to recall ‘snaps’ onto the watch, but right now it’s not snapping onto anything - it doesn’t stick to the back of the watch like I seem to remember. Have I got this totally wrong? Please can someone explain in simple terms how to attach the charger?! Thanks

  • How does FusedPace react to there being a foot pod

Ok, I’ve been experimenting and this is what I’ve found so far. Firstly, it seems clear to me that the behaviour of the watch’s presentation of pace changes when a stryd pod is used so I’m pretty sure the pace data is used and is used in preference to in-watch fusedspeed data. When I use the stryd pod, pace appears to be updated pretty consistently every 2 seconds or so. I actually think Suunto could do some work to tune this to improve it because my iPhone app (iSmoothRun) can update every second but that’s an aside. When the stryd is paired, no level of mucking about with gps or holding my arm to see the watch for extended periods makes any difference so I’m going to say when a stryd is paired fusedspeed isn’t used and pace comes from the stryd, not gps. When not using the stryd pod I can def. create scenarios where I can tell the difference. With a recently sync’d watch, over 20% battery, performance level gps and a solid gps signal I actually think the watch updates pace faster than when using the stryd. However, not sync’ing before a run, having less than 20% battery and running deliberately where I know the GPS signal is weaker (under trees, along canals etc) the pace update rate drops significantly. Here it seems to update every 5 or so seconds and is also more likely to react to a slowing of pace than an acceleration. I’m guessing this is the frusedspeed stuff kicking in. If I go further to ‘break’ the fusedspeed capability by holding my wrist up to view my watch continuously (therefore preventing the accelerometer from doing it’s job) then in a poor signal area the pace can easily freeze for 20 seconds or more until GPS catches up. So my conclusion is that the watch adopts behaviour 1 from my original post. As a result I’m not going to be retiring my Stryd any time soon And as a PS maybe Suunto could improve the refresh rate for pace and power from the stryd to every second I’d be interested to hear if other people have different experiences

@timecode said in 7-day HRV average on "Recovery HRV" widget: I don’t want to open a new topic, but not sure if it’s related to the latest update, or I am just remembering that the HRV used to be displayed differently. My last nights HRV was 38, but instead of showing 38 on the graph, it shows the 7 day average - 44. Was this always like this? Or I am just not remembering it right? I remember it showing my last nights value on the graph - not the 7 d.avg. Can someone advise on this? Thanks! The last Night is written under the Graph.

Hi all, @zadow said in Left-hand wearer option: I am curious what is the experience of lefthanded people with SR and the rotating crown…? left-handed owner of Suunto Race here, wearing it on the right arm. I’ve only had this watch for a couple months (summertime only, no long sleeves) hence had no issue (yet ?) with clothes. So far, the only issue with the rotating crown is with my arm hair that gets into the crown, especially while exercising when I’m sweaty. I guess this is not specific to left-handed people, but since you were asking

@far-blue said in [UPDATE] Disable notification ONLY during trainings: Just to add to this (which I also noticed), When DND is on it also silences all alerts for structured workouts. This isn’t a very helpful or expected behaviour so can DND mode when in an activity please allow actual activity alerts to still, um, alert? Yes, that is a bug in my opinion. It needs to disable system notifications for the duration of the activity while allowing activity related alerts (Guides, + Apps, etc.)

I’m using the apex 2 pro strap on my vertical. I had a nylon strap from amazon before. But it was far too rigid and got a fixed bend in the fabric where I normally had it set up. So I couldn’t make small adjustments anymore as it just jumped back to the bend. I wasn’t a fan of my apex 2 pro. But coros definitely has the nicest nylon strap that I’ve used.

@Dan-Cantir Indeed, I changed “location access” to “Always”, and since then the weather forecast has Benn updated automatically multiple times. Thank you. I don’t see why this is necessary (at least I would accommodate having a forecast for the last location where I opened the app), but for now it works and I don’t need to start a synchronisation from my watch anymore.

@arpoodle This is in the manual, all you have to do is set an intensity zone for HR, Pace or Power during your workout. Not available for cadence but the Cadence S+ app will do this.

@Sebastiaan-van-leeuwen I’d really like this feature. Sure some people won’t, but having it as an option would be super useful. Currently I’m essentially only using the map screen on new routes, making the rest redundant as I can’t be switching all the time.
