I had a problem with repeatedly connecting and disconnecting my Garmin chest strap, but all I had to do was turn off encryption on it.

@sky-runner That’s interesting. I’ve just come back to Suunto from Coros and the maps are better than was available on my first series Apex Pro. I considered the new Apex 4 (which does have better mapping) but I wanted to try AMOLED for better visibility with older eyesight and mapping wasn’t my first priority. Having said that I would value having more path detail on the wider zoom settings. I’m a fell runner - part of the game is traditional navigation with a map and compass and independent route choice between checkpoints. Use of a GPS device is against the rules except in an emergency. But at other times, randomly exploring, especially in unfamiliar locations it would be nice to leave the map in the bag and be able to know there was a path on the opposite side of this ridgeline or that a track I’m following meets another a mile ahead. So Suunto yes please from me, I’d like the path detail on wider zoom settings too.

@OutdoorMan this would be a workaround, but not a real solution. I would like to see an alarm that sounds a sound and vibrates to draw your attention to the fact that you reached (or exceeded) a target HR. I know that some of us want to reach a certain target zone when exercising, but some (other) of us need to watch the max HR (I don’t want to have a cardiac arrest when I am climbing ambitiously a hill on my bike ). Btw. it is available on many bike computers. On my Garmin Edge, the alarm will sound, but it is hardly noticeable (and the text does not even change colour). I am afraid that it is designed as an alert for reaching a target zone (as opposed to a real “ALARM” (“slow down or you will die” type).

Well, because I’m clumsy, I almost messed things up. My RACE S has started recording sleep data in the wrong column for the day it’s supposed to be on (it’s doing it about a day late), even though it works fine in the app, as I already mentioned in this post. The thing is, I’ve been trying to “fix” it and nothing worked, so today I thought, well, I’ll downgrade to the original OS… phew, the watch got stuck in a “being restored to a safe state” loop… Thank goodness, after connecting it to the charger, and after more than an hour and a half, the watch revived in the current version (2.48.16). So, after that scare, I’m going to leave it alone and see if the sleep tracking fixes itself.

@Brad_Olwin said in sleep tracking not working after most recent update: I tested my 9PP and it recorded sleep with no issues. @Brad_Olwin, as reported in https://forum.suunto.com/post/182036, the OHR sensor gave up during last night after more that a month since the watch update. I’m not writing just to duplicate the post, but to highlight that a week-ish testing should not be enough to validate this issue solution; actually, tonight was the first time the OHR sensor stopped since the 11th of November.

They’ve just given me the problem and the solution: apparently, the watch has to be in contact with the skin. If you wear it over clothing, the wrist-raise gesture doesn’t work.

@aplatonovs any newer watch than 9PP is a better choice. I bought a Race S for my wife as a replacement for 9PP and she couldn’t be more happier. No issues with the watch.

Hello, today we noticed this issue on my wifes 5 Peak. Unfortunatelly it has already 2.5 year so it is not under warranty anymore. And she is light user, and not wearing it while washing dishes, showering, sleeping etc. Only around 9hours a day during working days only and then while cycling/hiking but thats few times a month. Good day, I have a Suunto Spartan Ultra and have had it for 8 years. From my last Samsung UI update my watch has not synced my daily steps with the Suunto app. I have tried the following but not success: Restart phone and watch. Reinstall Suunto App Force stop Suunto App Unpair watch from phones Bluetooth and reconnect. Gave all items on Suunto App permission. Made sure Suunto APP and phone is not on energy saving mode. If anyone has a solution please assist. Kind regards

@sky-runner said in It's 2024 - Anyone Still Training Only With An Ambit?: It was more accurate than most watches at the time a decade ago, but compared to modern watches with dual-frequency GNSS, A3P accuracy is mediocre. Can’t disagree, but I still like them

I haven’t used my D5 since January; I got it out of the cupboard today to charge it as it’s dead, but I can’t remember how to attach the charger. I’ve searched the manual but it just says ‘attach’, it doesn’t explain how. There’s a red thing on the end of the cable which I seem to recall ‘snaps’ onto the watch, but right now it’s not snapping onto anything - it doesn’t stick to the back of the watch like I seem to remember. Have I got this totally wrong? Please can someone explain in simple terms how to attach the charger?! Thanks

@Thunderchicken Yes, there is a SuuntoPlus app named Emergency Info that does exactly this. When active, it rotates between two screens: one showing medical details, and another showing emergency contacts. It takes up one of the two available SuuntoPlus slots and is only visible while recording an activity, but it would serve a similar purpose as your note. It would be nice to have this feature always available as a widget. Maybe in the future SuuntoPlus apps will work this way… [image: 1758318937437-img_de4b173e85d7-1.jpeg]

I also encountered that bug and first thought it wouldn’t work. If you look closely, you should be able to see a marker in the grey area after 10min. The good side of the bug: when it turned green I know that I temporarily crossed LT1

@dombo I got rid of my ghost sensor via a hard reset. The problem that my power meter is detected as a speed sensor that does not transmit data remained. So I decided to downgrade to the prior version because support advised me to do so.

Well the storm alert worked on my 9 Baro reliably, but on S9PP, Vertical and Race I have never received any alert. I already forgot that there is such a function.

@pavel.samokha Is there any hope that the Balkans will get back the contour lines above the 200 m limit anytime soon? I’m really struggling to understand why some regions get this but others don’t. This has now been going on for years, and I tend to buy a new watch every 2-3 years. So it spans the entirety of this watch’s lifetime with me. Why do some regions get better treatment regarding maps? Should this be presented to buyers so they know that, depending on the region they live in, some features could not work as expected? I love Suunto ecosystem and build quality, but I’m not sure I’d accept this limitation on my next watch TBH.

@fondueaufromage sensor configuration, such as wheel circumference, is indeed missing, I believe it will be fixed with a new update, but do not have a speed sensor myself to test this

@deserthike20 @MotherRunner @aiv4r @2b2bff @mando I will convey this to Suunto but I may set up a poll or something here to help gain traction on this. The more that want a change the better chance we have. I will enquire on the field test site first to see if this is planned to be optional and get back to you here.

@sebchastang said in Help Map doesn't download !: @Kramble I had a similar problem few days ago. I don’t know if you have enabled wifi from the app or from the watch directly, but in my case map download started after switching wifi off/on from the watch . I cut off the auto WiFi on the watch, then the app connected the watch to the WiFi but this time I had the possibility to configure the WiFi network (name/pwd) and IT WORKS !! Thank you so much !

@szleslie I changed my mind. I ordered a Race Titanium Charcoal. I had Race S at release and an Amazfit T-Rex 3. I sent them back. At that time they seemed strange for me. Some weeks ago I ordered a Race S Titanium. I liked it but I wanted a sapphire glass. Returned. I have the Race now. Great device. In my current situation I do not need multiple devices. At least now:). Map rendering is awesome. I could not wait for Garmin to release something like Suunto has in map rendering any longer.

@Watzi69 - I’m experiencing the same issue. I posted about it on Reddit, and one user suggested a temporary fix: uninstall all your Plus-Apps and try to resync. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me, but it might be worth a try! Please let us know if it works for you. In the meantime, I’ve reinstalled my application and am waiting for an official solution. Cheers!
