@mlakis I sort of get what you are saying, but I don’t think the Race or Vertical are as bad as you think (or even bad at all!). I get pretty accurate OHR readings for all 24/7 usage with my Vertical, and probably >95% for ‘light’ exercise use (hiking, gentle cycling etc) - which is better than my Coros Apex Pro.
For ‘proper’ activities, where the HR readings need to be more accurate more often in order to get meaningful results and analysis by the App, I wear a strap. DC Rainmaker accepts that even for the ‘best’ wrist OHR watches on the market, total reliability in readings is only possible with a strap. I agree that maybe the SV or SR aren’t the ‘best’ on the market for wrist OHR, but for my serious usage and, by inference, his too, a strap is the right answer.
There are 1 or 2 small bugs that are being ironed out, but I also remember a few of those during my time with Ambits (3 in total across quite a few years, including my still used Ambit 3 Peak).
In summary, I do consider the SR or SV to be a good upgrade from an Ambit, and no, I am not a ‘fanboy’ - I left the Suunto fold as I was unhappy with what Suunto were doing with Movescount / the Suunto App 3 or 4 years ago. I’m VERY pleased with my Vertical!
(Hope that hasn’t cast a spell on it!)
It’s exactly the same for me, my Vertical is wonderful !
