Recovery Time and Calories used.

My Ambit3 is mainly used for Navigation and recording my walking trips. I have noticed that if I also use my heart monitor that recovery times of about 75 hrs and calorie consumption around 4000 are possible after a rugged 8 hour trek.
Are these figures realistic? I have confirmed that my personal details are correct.

@david-hobson Going to depend on you as a person as well as your effort, but for me I suppose it could be feasible, especially considering that for a 45m walk/hike doing around 4km I had a 15hr recovery as 46% of the activy was in HR zone 3 and 26% in HR zone 4, with only 7% in HR zone1. So pretty much grafted for me that whole activity. Calories was 829.
So considering that you 10 times the duration, I don’t think its unreasonable - but would probalby depend on the effort you expended. -
Keep in mind recovery is about the cardiovascular one not just leg muscles

@david-hobson A couple of years ago I was way too fanatic, had to sport everyday and build up a recovery time of like 1500 hours. By then I was stressed and needed help and a break from work to recover. Since then i take it more serious, offcourse it’s not 100% realistic, but it’s a signal that should be taken into account. Also look at the Trainingpeaks algorithm in Suunto App, It may help not to go too far over the limit Like a famous cycling quote: “the tour is won in bed”.

@jurjen agreed, but have to remember that recovery doesn’t necessarily mean stop don’t do any more, it just means take it easy, as can still do recovery runs etc, trick is just not putting out too much effort.
