@pelo2 I never had this behaviour in Starva and I also have forgotten to un-pause the watch several times. In the track you see an straight line but all the metrics are correct. BTW, what are the SA metrics? Strava is what it is, not very reliable, not in positioning not in time. I mean, I am in some segments that I haven’t run, I’ve passed close by but not following the segment, in others I have run them with a friend and we have differences of 5/10 seconds in the same segment when the time should be the same. Don’t get me wrong, I use Strava and it is fun to compete for some segments, but considering what Strava really is.

I’m impressed, syncing via the app works exactly as expected now. Thank you very much to everyone that worked on communicating this issue and solving it. It would have been easy to just walk away from the problem.

@DWils said in Suunto A3P - syncs multiple logs: Is that enough, or do I need to do a full sync another way? Thanks - I will try SL on my PC now… I’m afraid that syncing with SL doesn’t make any difference in this case. I’ve believe I’ve seen something similar (A3P, SA, Android) but never really bothered. And I don’t think it actually pulls all those activities from the watch, it’s more like syncing with logbook entries as it’s just too fast. Just for reference - syncing a a full logbook with SA takes about an hour. But I hardly ever monitor what Suunto App actually does or reports while syncing, for me it all just works in the background and I just get my new activity notifications few minutes after getting close to my phone. What you can do is forcing a FW update through Moveslink2 (or factory reset or something similar in Suuntolink), this will clear watch logbook and SA should be back on track. It will also reset your recovery status, steps and probably few other datasets so you might need to teach it your swimming styles again.

Thanks for all feedback. Useful info re the ‘off route’ tolerance. I’ve realised, however that the repeated beeping is linked to the ‘better HR zones’ app I have installed on the watch. This gives double beeps on the threshold of HR zones, so if I’m hovering between zone 1 and 2, for example, it beeps repeatedly as I cross in and out of each zone. Case closed!

The other is total for a whole for a current activity in multisport session - triathlon, some other predefined sport mode sequence or when switching sport modes manually through menus. It’s one of those if-you-need-to-ask-you-can-ignore-it’s-existence things. (e: fixed. apparently I’m not much of a morning person after all)

@stromdiddily said in Importing gpx file to Movescount not working: @André-Faria yeah this is pretty brutal…especially since Movescount appears to be the way forward for routes in Ambit line Just found out, if I connect my pc through ethernet it work. So there must be any setting to change on the router. If anyone knows what I should look for…

No. But what you can do, is set up a “ghost” running at constant pace as an app, there’s a set of those - http://www.movescount.com/apps#sorting=15&category=7 If you browse though apps section, I you might find few more advanced approaches as well.

It makes browsers to complain about Cross-Origin Resource Sharing, once this is addressed, Mapquest service responds with: The AppKey submitted with this request is invalid. In others words, not much end users can do about it.

@André-Faria said in Can't import gpx with waypoints to movescount: Movescount does’t support gpx with embbeded waypoints? It does. But on its own terms. Meaning that it will not recognise waypoints in GPX files coming from most ( like 9 out of 10 or so ) sources / services / applications. https://forum.suunto.com/post/56598 https://forum.suunto.com/post/61907 Those 2 posts are about route/wp imports to Suunto App, but Movescount route import has those same quirks. And few more tech bits - https://forum.suunto.com/post/37070

I know that this bug is not solved, but on my side I just use Komoot or ridewith gps to do the routes, send it to movescount, and then watch and on the watch the ascent/descent profile matches the one of komoot. I know it is another site to register, another file to pass, adding entropy and possibility of failiure, but it is a “solution”, at least for my usage. Hope to have helped

I usually run with a frined that uses an Ambit 3 Run and I use the S9B (GPS only), in my opinion and comparing both watches I found the following: In trail runs (using custom trail running sport mode), with around 300 m ascent very 10 km and some trees the Ambit 3 has most of the times a perfect track, the S9B has a very good track but not as good as the A3 and falls short on distance comparing the A3. Examples: S9B: 21.12 km - A3: 21.35 / S9B: 13 km - A3: 13.10 / S9B: 11.02 km - A3: 11.12 km In flat runs (using custom running mode), here the A3 has teh same or falls short on distance comparing with the S9B, tracks are quite similar. Examples: S9B: 11.43 km - A3: 11.31 km / S9B: 11.32 km - A3: 11.30 km I do not know if there is any diference in the sports mode that can affect this, but what I explain I have noticed several times.
