I did an exercise today and everything is fine again. Very happy! Still no idea what was the problem. Let’s hope it was a one-time thing.

@André-Faria Agree. Have been in contact with Suunto support and got the response that steps are not synced over. Found out that it’s possible by editing an activity in the app. The lowest value, below Descent. Tap on Steps and put in the amount manually.

@André-Faria To sync POIs you need to use SuuntoLink, the PC program. In addition the app. https://www.suunto.com/Support/faq-articles/transition/how-do-i-sync-routes-and-pois-to-the-watch-for-ambit-123-and-traverse/ When it comes to altitude, try to add a view to the display of the sport mode you are using. Altitude is built in by default. Additional views are called Suunto app as well (not to be confused with the app on a mobile device), I found and tested different compass/coordinate apps. Probably also some additional ones to find for altitude. To me the built in altitude view is working good. Check if altitude is working when teh activity is started, maybe the configuration in the watch should be adjusted.

@Zdeněk-Hruška I appreciate you saying that gently. In the immediate aftermath I was shocked and sad. Now I realize I should have learned more about my watch and the supporting apps. I guess also with any sort of data it’s risky to go so long without backing it up.

@Tieutieu Definitely strange and do not know. I have not used my Ambit in a long time. With newer watches only high winds are an issue for me.

@Raimo-Järvi thanks for checking. Let’s see if it happens again. In 9 years this is the only issue I have had… Maybe it’s almost time to upgrade

@Swaddy61 said in Battery Life of Ambit 3 Peak: @mlakis I sort of get what you are saying, but I don’t think the Race or Vertical are as bad as you think (or even bad at all!). I get pretty accurate OHR readings for all 24/7 usage with my Vertical, and probably >95% for ‘light’ exercise use (hiking, gentle cycling etc) - which is better than my Coros Apex Pro. For ‘proper’ activities, where the HR readings need to be more accurate more often in order to get meaningful results and analysis by the App, I wear a strap. DC Rainmaker accepts that even for the ‘best’ wrist OHR watches on the market, total reliability in readings is only possible with a strap. I agree that maybe the SV or SR aren’t the ‘best’ on the market for wrist OHR, but for my serious usage and, by inference, his too, a strap is the right answer. There are 1 or 2 small bugs that are being ironed out, but I also remember a few of those during my time with Ambits (3 in total across quite a few years, including my still used Ambit 3 Peak). In summary, I do consider the SR or SV to be a good upgrade from an Ambit, and no, I am not a ‘fanboy’ - I left the Suunto fold as I was unhappy with what Suunto were doing with Movescount / the Suunto App 3 or 4 years ago. I’m VERY pleased with my Vertical! (Hope that hasn’t cast a spell on it!) It’s exactly the same for me, my Vertical is wonderful !

Bringing this issue up in case it can be reported for fix in SA android. Here’s the screenshot from the Vertical where it shows okay vs my A3P with the display issue, wore both watches during the same session. Thx [image: 1703287368166-smartselect_20231222_171155_gallery.jpg] [image: 1703287378372-smartselect_20231222_171130_gallery.jpg]

@overgrowntrail said in Ambit - importing POI’s from watch to Suunto App: @André-Faria Exactly. Very disappointing to see Suunto as an use-and-throw-away orientated manufacturer. Especially as a manufacturer of devices that are used in nature. @overgrowntrail let’s believe that they do their best with what they have. One “solution” may be having with you a device with windows 10/11 to install suunto link. There are some tablets with it. @isazi although I understand your point, I think the fact that some ambit 3 users still speaking out may mean something…either that the watch still pleases them, has features that please them, and that may be also an oportunity for suunto to listen to it. Also just because Suunto doesn’t have the resources doesn’t mean something can’t be done. Maybe opening the protocol of communication so someone could do something about it, or other types of solution. On my side I have zero interest in complaining. PS: once upon at time I even proposed to open a bounty (inspiration here ) to collect money in order to pay to have these features (of corse to be develloped inside suunto), this way they could also understand how much people value this. On my side I would be ready to fork 100eur for having full support on suunto app for the A3P(and I already bought a s9b at similar price).

@Fraol-Demisse guess it may be your battery that is somehow dead. Have you tried leaving it for a few days on the charger (or pc charging) seeing if gets better?

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos said in Running pace vs 965: You are probably seeing speeds ups and drops due to speeding up from static position etc. And that is fine if that is the case. The instant pace in Suunto watches (As already discussed here ) is much better than most competitors (and a reason for this discussion from prev members such as @skyrunner etc) . What you need todo in order to report a bug or put weight in the discussion is to compare FIT files on the speed chart. Notice that Suunto watches use INSTANT speed / pace not averaged (5-10s) such as for example coros and garmin etc. That is a trade off for the instant speed. Additionally with older watches than the vertical , running with left / right hand will have different paces on track and field due to the offset if the watch is not having a good signal. I don’t want to point a bug or complain. Your last sentence gave me a clue, I was always with the ambit on right hand. Thank you for taking the time to answer me and better understanding how things work, which was my aim.

@freeheeler said in Time in Zones: @Topher-Dabrowski possibly, but difficult for me to try as I gave my A3PS to a good friend, but he now upgraded to a 9 peak pro… maybe @André-Faria can help here? I only have a3p and it appears to me [image: 1683444024372-img_6810.png] Latest beta on iOS and android show it. Maybe trying to uninstall and install again the app. Is the hr strap working correctly? I don’t believe it’s linked to device because I have activities imported from garmin devices that show it also.

I also had it a couple of times after getting it to the sea. If I recall correctly, it happened after getting serviced (opened and resealed) by the local authorized dealer. Nevertheless, didn’t had any issues and still works today after ~3 years or so.
