Ambit 3 Peak Sport modes distance question

Hey all.
I have Ambit 3 Peak and I want to use a sport mode that isn’t available by default.
On my main display I will have the current activity duration, distance and average speed.
The problem is that I can set two types of distance measuring - distance (Distance/GPS section), and current activity distance (Multisport section). Which one should I use, and what is the difference between the two?
I am using Movescount and Suuntolink to set my sport modes.Thanks.

The other is
total for a wholefor a current activity in multisport session - triathlon, some other predefined sport mode sequence or when switching sport modes manually through menus. It’s one of those if-you-need-to-ask-you-can-ignore-it’s-existence things.(e: fixed. apparently I’m not much of a morning person after all)
