SuuntoLink & Ambit 2R
-
Anyone have a problem with getting SuuntoLink to recognize their Ambit 2R with the latest update? I had no significant problems prior to the latest update but after the latest SuuntoLink update, it no longer recognizes my Ambit 2R at all. MacOS is latest (12.0.1), SuuntoLink is latest (3.6.2). Watch reset to factory, still no luck. Cable isn’t the problem as it charges fine from that computer.

Well… for charging it only needs 2 outer contacts, you can cover 2 inner ones of the watch with tape or a piece of paper if you want to test it yourself. But there’s a good chance that you can debug it bit further when connecting a cable and looking for a lock symbol on the watch face.
- When charging with blocked or disconnected data line(s) (2 inner contacts of the cable), screen goes blank for a moment and then starts charging, but there should be no lock symbol.
- When there’s a connection with all 4 lines but Suuntolink is not running, watch should start charging and there should be a lock symbol that disappears after few seconds.
- And when Suuntolink is running and cable is connected, that lock symbol should stay on.
Though this is how Ambit 3 behaves when connected to PC, there’s a slight change it would be different with A2 and/or Mac.
I’d still check the cable & watch - pogos at the clamp end of the cable can get stuck and contact pads on the watch might also need some cleaning.

Hello, I can say that at least Ambit 2S is working on Mac 12.1 beta with SuuntoLink 3.6.2.
So as margus said it is likely to be related your cable/watch/computer, please try different computer or cable if you have a chance. -
@jvantomme Do you use a M1 Mac or Intel Mac?

Update: SL 3.6.2 tested with Ambit1/2 on MacOS 12.0.1, both Intel and M1 - working fine.
