@Henning-Hefner I came here to report the same Worst OHR I have ever had, worst than Race 1 4 runs First two were recovery runs I noticed 170 during first km then 140, then again 160 … Third one was 18k 600D fartlek trail, push hard in ascent, recovering in descent, good speed on flat sections. Hr was often 170 in recovery descent till the end, and ascent were 160… despite pushing 100%. Flat 165… So the 4th run this evening, flat recovery run at 5:35 per km, 10km. Same as you always 165/170. Stopping twice hoping to fix that… hr went down from 170 to 120 in 10 seconds. No way mine could do that. So finishing those 10 slow km with intense hr, I switch to polar HR and went out for another 1km for testing … same pace, perfect 138 HR in cruising mode That Race 2 got a serious problem for some of us. It s far worst than race 1 which was already my worst ohr in 10 years. I must say epix pro gen 2 was spot on regarding HR for me. I hope suunto is aware and working on a soft fix

My only tip is to slowly lower the watch down to the charger and let the magnets align themselves and “jump” to the watch. And then don’t touch. I have never had an issue with the watch not charging using that method.

@GiPFELKiND Ahh, I knew the HR zones had reset which I’ve already done but good to know I need to do the pace zones too! Guess it’s time to figure those out

@Stark Firstly I was a bit disappointed by the darker titanium as it appears lighter in pictures. Now I wouldn’t want to change it even if I could. I’m sorry about your rotated display. Of course I had to check mine and it’s all fine.

@isazi Hi, I’d like to ask whether, during the multi-sensor test, you’ve come across the display of sensor battery status. I happen to know people who use both Race and Race2 models, and these functions work there. There used to be a similar feature with the Ambit 3 Peak as well — if I remember correctly, the earlier version of the current app also showed this. So I don’t think it would be too much to expect this function to appear on the Ocean as well. It’s actually a very useful feature — it’s good to know in advance if, for example, the heart rate sensor’s battery is running low, rather than discovering it right before or during a workout. Furthermore, I’d like to ask you, as a moderator, whether there’s any way to start a more direct, earlier communication with Suunto. I’ve always believed in finding solutions — listing problems or repeating negative opinions doesn’t help much. I think many would agree that sharing a roadmap and holding a discussion about feature priorities with user involvement would be valuable. I know there have been efforts in this direction, but they don’t seem to be very successful so far. I also understand that “silly” or technically uninformed demands shouldn’t drive development. However, as we can see here on the forum, there are plenty of logical requests, constructive suggestions, and valid criticisms worth considering. So my question is: could we initiate something like the following through this forum? • Official sharing of a roadmap, outlining general directions — not necessarily with fixed dates, but with a rough timeline. • Feedback on key user requests, such as dive function improvements, dive screen customization, multisport features like sensor status (which I’ve personally been advocating for), as well as watch face bugs, widget fixes, modernization, and further development. • Regular status updates on the progress of features and improvements. For instance, I really appreciated your post mentioning that you were testing functions users have been waiting for. It would be great to have all this not only through forum discussions and ad-hoc Q&A threads, but in an official, transparent, and publicly accessible format. I believe users have a lot of ideas — and some of them could genuinely be useful. How do you see it? Would there be a way to make room for such an initiative?

@VoiGAS said in Navigation and pausing: @maszop So the buttons on the Vertical are working different than the ones of the Race? Sorry, I never used a Vertical and really don’t know the point is, that with a rotating crown, the crown is used exclusively to zoom the map. Something pretty much impossible, in winter with multiple sleeves and gloves. So the map will either zoom unintentionally from contact with clothes or difficult to operate with gloves. So me and others cannot use the crown in these cases and prefer a button-only watch.

@Ben-Woodard said in Suunto Ocean general discussion: My absolute biggest complaint is that the firmware shuts off the display during workouts to prevent burn in and to save power. To me this is false economy and really is inconvenient. The two places where this is extremely annoying is when I’m doing some sort of timed workout like streching I have an interval set for holding an exercise for 30s or a minute and the display cuts out and I don’t know how much time I have. The other place where this makes the watch practically useless is when I want to do bike ride and have the watch on the handlebars. The display cuts off I can’t just glance down to see how fast I’m going, what my HR is. This is just broken behaviour. The display shouldat least have the option to stay on when exercising. Oct 2025: Lookin’ @ a new Suunto Ocean – as an activity-tracking device & SCUBA dive computer: (Should record runs, bike rides etc. & sync data OK with Strava, seems to offer more detailed activity features I may delve into. Certainly would use it SCUBA diving of course.) One concern is bright, always-on-display during bike mode – I’ll likely want to mount it on the bike handlebar (via an attachment) & have it always-on so I can track & see the distance ridden easily. Web searches indicate this may not be so easy in bike mode, there may have been a firmware upgrade that improved it, but unsure. Does anyone have recent experience with this?

@Brad_Olwin Definitely would be though I use an Oura ring for sleep, even more comfortable Would be great if Suunto/Oura had an integration though I don’t think any of the watches have that.

@jase2983 I also tried the app before buying Suunto. You can also export activities to the app. I used Runalyze for that and you can see some metrics.

@Mads-Hintz-Madsen thanks for the hint, Mads. Will check and try. The problem I see is that this has never been an issue for more than 2 years with the old Bluetooth firmware and just appeared after the major redesign. I hope that Suunto is aware of this issue and does something about it. My Race is on the bike, so technically never far away from the pedals on stops, and two days ago the connection dropped even mid-ride without a pause. I just wish the Pause menu had a connections settings so I can actively check&reconnect…

I’m my experience it only works on routes imported by Kamoot or made in the app. So not sure why Kamoot imports are not working. In my user case the first thing I do is turn off TbyT and simply follow the blue line. I hate the watch constant notifications and as others have said the warnings aren’t ideal. I haven’t used TbyT since the last change.

@Brad_Olwin said in Map zooming with the rotating crown is inconsistent (unreliable): @sky-runner Suunto is aware of this issue and I believe working on changing it. MIP displays do better than the AMOLED. @Brad_Olwin, blast from the past! Back in May 2025 I complained that trails were barely visible at 0.5mi zoom level and disappeared at 1mi zoom level. You said that Suunto was aware and working on that. Apparently the solution was to make trails disappear at 0.2mi zoom. Do you know if Suunto is still considering improving this? Also I’ve heard that this works differently in some other regions, for example Denmark.
