@roadrunner this feature was implemented earlier this year in other models (Race, Race S, Race 2, Vertical 2) with a software update that vertical have not received yet due to some hardware limitation. In many post in this forum it is stated that Suunto devs are working to bring some of these new functionalities also to Vertical 1, so maybe your request will be implemented!

@pvricardo Either the barometer sensor is dirty or the sensor has failed. I had the exact failure with my Race and had the watch replaced on warranty. In case the issue is caused by dirt, you can try soaking the watch in water, then let it dry and check if that has resolved the issue.

@mickywickyftw I don’t see how ZS adds anything that you don’t get with HR anyway. For me it is just too inaccurate. I wanted to know how ZS actually performs and analyzed 150 runs and rides that I all did as Suunto recommends for ZS. While the mean reported thresholds over all workouts come very close to my actual thresholds, the standard deviation is at 9 bpms for the aerobic and at 7 bpm for the anaerobic threshold. So therefore on normal runs or rides, I get fluctuations of up to ±9 and ±6 bpm respectively and I never know when it is accurate or not. I had workouts where ZS told me that I am pushing way too hard but my HR was as usual and I was able to do the workout/race exactly as planned. I also had it the other way around. If I would have listened to ZS, I would have had a lot of destroyed workouts or races. From years of racing and training, I know that my HR never differs more than ±2 bpm at the anaerobic threshold and ±4 at the aerobic threshold if I am not completely destroyed or sick. So therefore HR and pace in combination with RPE is way more reliable. At least for me.

@André-Faria It is hard to claim warranty for this. The watch restarts randomly. My seller says: the fault did not appear.

@Wilson75 hey, Sorry for not circling back on this, its fixed it seems I think the cause was an incorrect battery calibration. My “issue” since a long time was that my watch would never reach 100%, always stopped charging at 90-ish%, this is because I almost only use a modern multiport charger thats supposedly smart…yet incredibly dumb, because the current draw from the watch passed 90% is so weak the charger refuses to continue supplying it current…and it may have wrecked the battery calibration over time. I fixed it by using a dumb brick, which finally allowed me to reach 100% and my problems went away ! I’m still debating sending it for a battery replacement since it last so much less than before, I noticed it when going on a 10day bike trip, I forgot my charger so i put it in “endurance mode” with nothing else (and turning off the watch in the night) , yet I barely managed 25 hours of training instead of the 70h advertised.

@squirrel Thank you for your advice - but didnt work! BUT: I solved the problem by spending more the 30 hours in try and error - in the end I loaded the watch with the loading cable plugged in by the laptop. Whether it still looped, after pushing randomly all the buttons while doing other daily things, the watch started with like 6% of battery. After having 40% (40% are required for complete reset) I reset the watch. The reset went good but the endless scroll glitch (upper button) was still there. I was disappointed. Multiple times I changed the personal settings - endless scroll. After like 5 minutes endless scroll stopped! I put in all settings and connections - watch started working. Stable since yesterday 11 p.m. Suunto Support wanted me to by a new watch with 30% discount on enlisted price! I wouldnt have bought a new suunto since support was not really helpful nor customer oriented. If Suunto is reading this: PLZ fix this issue, this bug is hell. I will edit in a week or when the watch is going to “issue” again.

@hhouter Yes, this was my personal experience. I usually wear watches on left hand and with my scuba configuration, POD is on the right side. First dive in a pool with left/right configuration resulted in multiple disconnects. After changing to right/right configuration, I did not notice any distinct disconnects (either in pool or outdoors). Worked great for like 10-15 dives, until POD suddenly did not wake up at all (probably not related to weak POD/watch connection, still trying to get it working again). ps. since left is usually reserved for physical pressure gauge, we don’t have any other option, but to put POD to the right side and depending on how low you put your tank, POD needs to penetrate neck or even spine area in cross pattern configuration. pps. max distance for POD/Watch is 1,5m (by manual documents for connecting without obstacles), POD distance is like ~50cm to neck area, so it’s 1/3 of max theoretical distance, so the only option is to eliminate as much resistance for signal as possible.

@Migsey The DM5 still exists, it shouldn’t be a big deal to bring a new version with Nautic / cloud support. Then we could see the same dives in both applications. Suunto app for eyecandy and overview, DM5 for details

@Steven-Hambleton Well, I guess a sync back to the watch after a trim could be implemented to keep the values in sync. But at the moment everything is better than having a run in your stats with a 30min car drive afterwards or whatever.

@athinakap30 With every new software update, the battery gets worse; no matter what setting you use, the juice doesn’t last as long as they are claiming. The last battery issue was addressed in firmware version “2.48.16”, and later firmware versions have been pathetic for battery performance, and Suunto engineers have ignored it royally (busy developing more bugs ) I have been suffering from this issue for a very long time; resets, factory resets, and firmware rollbacks have not worked. Every time I do that, I spend more time reconfiguring whatch.

I don’t want to start a new thread just for this, so I’ll try asking here. This year—that is, since the latest firmware update—I’ve noticed that when I swim outdoors, my watch doesn’t show the distance swum. I’ve tried both my custom sport mode and the preset one. When I save the activity, I can see the distance. But while I’m swimming, it still shows 0 m. Has anyone else had the same experience?

I don’t know about the Vertical 2, but the charger on my Race s is quite tricky to get aligned right. You always have to turn the charger a bit to get it right and the watch starts charging. When the watch is on you at least get instant feedback, but when it’s of, it’s more of a problem. You could try to rotate the charging puck a bit and see if it starts charging.

@Goatee Suunto reached out to me via email asking for more information (watch serial number, app version, etc.). I sent them the deets, so I’ll see where things go from there. Hopefully we can isolate the bug and get it fixed.
