A few intermittent tank pressure dropouts

My Tank POD is only 6 months old. During my last two dives (water around 13°C,
maximum depth 18 meters), I experienced a few intermittent tank pressure dropouts. Before these last two dives, the device was working perfectly.

Software version: 2.49.32
Original Suunto Tank POD
Tank POD icon remained visible
No low battery warning
Pressure indication occasionally disappeared and then came back

Has anyone experienced similar behavior?

@Nabil , I’m not sure about your issue but this seems exactly the same what I was seeing in one of my dives, Suunto confirmed an update is required to solve this. But to be sure, report this to support@suunto.com. Then, please read the “Mandatory Gas Time Alarm at beginning of the dive” thread carefully, I had the same on a dive where Tank Pressure was - - <null>.

Not related to Nautic, but has similar drop outs using Ocean and POD. What helped was positioning POD and watch on the same side. It looks like POD cannot penetrate body well.

@prakalejas worth the try, have you experienced this yourself? Are you sure adding the POD to the side of the computer arm is solving the dropouts of the computer? Did you analyze both situations?

On sidemount i had no issues the transmitters are very close by of Nautic and Nautic S

On backmount one transmitter is on the left and the Nautic S has also on the left without dropouts, while the Nautic on right arm, i might had one dropout for brief moment.

Yes, this was my personal experience. I usually wear watches on left hand and with my scuba configuration, POD is on the right side. First dive in a pool with left/right configuration resulted in multiple disconnects.
After changing to right/right configuration, I did not notice any distinct disconnects (either in pool or outdoors). Worked great for like 10-15 dives, until POD suddenly did not wake up at all (probably not related to weak POD/watch connection, still trying to get it working again).

ps. since left is usually reserved for physical pressure gauge, we don’t have any other option, but to put POD to the right side and depending on how low you put your tank, POD needs to penetrate neck or even spine area in cross pattern configuration.

pps. max distance for POD/Watch is 1,5m (by manual documents for connecting without obstacles), POD distance is like ~50cm to neck area, so it’s 1/3 of max theoretical distance, so the only option is to eliminate as much resistance for signal as possible.
