A week on & I’ve done a good mix of walks & runs, some hilly & some flat (48 miles with 5111ft ascent). The Race has reported spot on ascent values throughout so the cleaning process above definitely works

@Tami999 Yep… Watch itself looks also really nice, I would change happily my black one to that - but I’m not gonna buy second Vertical I do hope they create at least something similar to that watch face.

Hello, I was just skiing 6 days and alpine ski mode worked perfectly. I did two sessions per day, one in the morning an second on the afternoon. I did not needed to do reboots or anything else. Watch is Race 2 with latest fw.

@ADidier said in Third-party training: @Brad_Olwin, I understand that the old operating system of the Race 2, Vertical 2 requires an addition in the form of additional applications, it was designed like this. I just hope that with this new software platform, Suunto will be able to communicate with third parties such as other watch brands (Garmin, Coros) that do not use Suunto+. In the meantime, I hand transpose my Runna plans into interval training. At the moment, there’s no sign the new OS used for the Run will be continued to be used. The Race 2 and Vertical 2 use the older OS and those watches were released after the Run. The Run OS was described as “an experiment” not as a direct successor.

One year later this issue still exists. I did a 50K trail race today that consisted of 3 laps. The arrows were absolutely invisible behind several tracks from multiple laps. There were at least a couple of tricky 4 way trail junctions on the race course where the arrows would be helpful, if they were visible. I didn’t have time to take a picture of my watch because I was racing but here are fragments from the recorded activity: [image: 1771720463549-screenshot-2026-02-21-at-4.33.38-pm.png] [image: 1771720472616-screenshot-2026-02-21-at-4.34.05-pm.png] Please give this simple fix a priority!

I’ve downgraded to 2.48.16. After that my watch didn’t want to connect to my phone anymore, so I did a factory reset. Too bad that not all data is synced back after that. Guess I’ll see in the morning if it is working again.

I have similar issues on my Race S several months ago an apparently fixed a couple of firmware update ago. In recent weeks I realized the problems popped up intermittently. I had been diligently sync-ing and exporting Stryd-only data for my runs and compare them to Suunto’s data. About half the time, the power numbers matched well, while the others will be off by 5 to 10w. And when the data got merged into Power Center, the Suunto’s numbers persisted, “compromising” the overall data quality. This is really frustrating.

@LUIS-RAZORMAX 70% after restart is normal. It is the baseline the Watch assumes until it gets different data. I found that it seems to matter how I wear my watch. If I wear it too tight, it won’t register any changes. Maybe because of the watch is held in a different spot? If I wear it more loose it works better and actually declines.

@martintrail My Vertical behaves slightly differently. It correctly detects naps, sleep onset, and wake-up time. However, it doesn’t seem to capture the many times I get up, sit on the bed, move from the bed to the couch, etc. When compared with Whoop and Garmin, the Vertical tends to smooth out those awake moments and classify them as “light sleep.”

@marbjo you might be right about surface time… Also ive found in other groups someone mention the diferences between Ocean and Nautic S ***Thanks for your feedback! The Ocean and Nautic S have different features due to hardware differences. We’re always improving via firmware updates, but some advanced Nautic S functions may not come to the Ocean. Keep your device updated, and feel free to share any feature requests! The Nautic S supports dual transmitter for sidemount diving and be able to display simultaneously the pressure in each of two tanks. The Suunto Ocean currently does not support simultaneous display of two tank pressures for sidemount diving. It can connect to multiple Tank PODs, but only the active gas’s pressure is shown. Unlike the Nautic S, dual‑tank display is not available on Ocean, and there’s no official confirmation it will be added in the future.***

@Sportsfreund In my case, it worked very well. On Race, now on V2. But today, it started detecting sleep with 1 hour delay.

@piotras I see poor HR too https://forum.suunto.com/topic/14698/new-race-2-heart-rate-awful-distances-too-short Can’t comment on earlier firmware as watch updated itself out of the box
