@Gunnar, according to to Texas Instruments Technical Article from May 2018 OHRs can and do measure R-R intervals. They state: “Here’s further detail on some of the measurements possible with optical heart rate sensors: … R-R interval (heart-rate variability) – The R-R interval is the time between blood pulses; generally, the more varied the time between beats, the better. R-R interval analysis can be used as an indicator of stress levels and various cardiac issues.” (page 2) Source: https://www.ti.com/lit/ta/sszt726/sszt726.pdf?ts=1771583450198&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.google.com%252F I would presume that also Suunto’s OHR measure R-R intervals as they calculate night time HRV. That being said AFAIK the R-R measurements from OHR are not good (precise) enough for ZoneSense calculations which are thus limited to ECG (chest) straps. So even if Coospo OHR, or another OHR, does broadcast R-R interval data it would probably result in wrong/not accurate ZoneSense data. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8927864/ Note that the HRV marketing of the Coospo might refer only to night time HRV calcualtion (as is the case with Polar Verity Sense).

I have a Coros armband and a Coospo belt. I’m going to test whether I also have HR spikes.

Thanks guys how weird, I haven’t noticed mine doing it in normal mode only when I’m in an activity. I have the latest soft ware. Strange though it’s only started happening in the last week, the last software update was a while back now

@Bradleyd Yes, I have the start of the week set to Monday. I don’t see any reason why it should treat Sunday as a rest day.

Hi everyone. I got the very same issue as the others. Interestingly enough I bought the watch this week on Monday, did a setup, firmware update, and literally every activity has wrong HR readings. The watch is struggling during first minutes during activities but that’s not all. I was thinking ok, there is cold outside or smth and that’s why the HR is not quite catched , but no, even running at home for couple of minutes seems a struggle for the watch. Btw. when I don’t do any activity and then let’s say I’ll quickly climb some stairs to the point where normally my arm band is showing up 130-140 and I am feeling tired, the watch is showing up 90-100 which is so weird. I am thinking of returning it, as I still have an opportunity to do so. I’ll try to reset the watch again, but I don’t expect any fireworks.

Since nobody answered this, perhaps I can answer some of my questions myself. Overall, Vertical Running profile seems nearly identical to Trail running, except for data screens. When it is synced to Strava it shows in Strava as trail running When running, the laps data screen shows power for mile splits. At the end of each lap the summary shows horizontal speed in miles per hour rather than vertical speed, which is odd and inconsistent. Also, why is it speed rather than pace? VO2max does get estimated the same way as during running This profile is supposed to focus on vertical speed, but I found it to be super unstable and difficult to read. Even at a very gentle uphill, at nearly walking speed the vertical speed exceeds 1000 ft/hour, so 4 digits, and becomes difficult to comprehend because it keeps changing every second +/- 200 ft/hour even when moving steady or just standing in one place, so the last two digits are just random noise.

@Squirrel said in No Morning reports since 2.50.26: @localhost How is your sleep tracking overall? Are your reported Fell asleep and Woke up times close to actual times? If you mean if the tracking is working, yes. If you mean if it is accurate, then I’d say Suunto should improve on this one. A lot.

@Brad_Olwin I hope you’re wrong and that Suunto will manage to integrate at least third-party training programmes – for my half marathon preparation – and a few running tests – e.g. Cooper – because it’s running. I agree with not having mapping, but at least for running it should be complete.

@Nandodiver Comparison on Suunto home page doesn’t seem correct. E.g. Ocean nowadays has surface time notify.

@eliventures said in SuuntoPlus Guides are not syncing: Did you find a solution? Nope, but I mailed with Suunto support and got this answer: Regarding the situation you described, we have received a response from our technical team: this is a known issue, and we have conducted an in-depth analysis recently. We are currently actively developing a fix and expect to resolve this issue in the first quarter update, ensuring that you can properly synchronize and update your training plan. So, I hope for the best… @brad_olwin it doesn’t sync anything. Even other SuuntoPlus apps that I want to install like “Hill Repeats” do not show up on the watch… Suunto App says no Sports App and even no watch faces are on the Watch, but I have a few Sports apps and use Vertical Week as my watch face…

@kristofkmety said in Suunto Race 2 General Discussion: Anyone heard of something they planning to integrate more datas to apple health or bevel? maybe? If you want Bevel to access Suunto data Bevel needs to initiate this. Suunto has an API that Bevel can have access to. I do not know the limits on the API or what data streams Suunto allows access to. This is not something that Suunto would initiate from their end.

@duffman19 I mean, I was wearing long sleeves, so theoretically they could have been touching the surface, if that’s the case then it’s plausible. I guess if it happens again I’ll find out!

@Dima-Pursanov I am wondering how is the current way of how alarms work waking up your whole family. Yes, you cannot set specific days, but I have multiple alarms already saved and enable / disable them depending on which day I am using them, let’s say as a workaround.

@Ecki-D. But to me, this is definitely a used battery issue, as if i switch on the watch for running, it will turn off instant.
