As the title says. No Suunto Plus Development on the upcoming MacOS.

With the next generation of MacOS to be released in September, Apple is dropping support for Intel based Macs and the Rosetta component that allows Intel based apps to run on Apple Silicon. We brave (stupid?) beta-testers got hit now. Luckily I have a second Intel-based machine 😊

So Suunto need to do something. Recompile for Apple Silicon would be the simple thing. But I would strongly recommend a “retake” on the VS Code plugin.

On my wishlist would be a new simulator, that simulates the watch HW and then runs the real Suunto OS and App on top of that. This would fix all the problems with the differences in the simulator and watch and allow us to simulate a whole app lifecycle. You would be able to accurately simulate the UI and functionality of a several watches in the simulator and then only focus on HW performance on one real watch. Think Apples xCode with their simulators for Apple Watch, iPhone and more.

I would be really happy if we also got better exception handling to help in debugging.

Apologies for the rant, have a great day!
