@dragan-petrovic Huawei in general is very hard in saving battery and therefore killing apps and functions. you can try to setup you battery or power saver to exclude Suunto App from being restricted

@zzmike76 this is all been taken care of by Suunto now. Neither saving rate, nor alti/baro profile can be adjusted

This is happening with my Spartan Sport with the new Polar Verity Sense. The wait it out workaround works, but would very much like to have this fixed. I now the Spartan line is no longer being enhanced and I’m fine with that, but please release a patch for this one issue.

@aleksander-h I believe it is the same for Spartan as S series. And this is how my old Spartan worked. Paired as foot pod will give power, speed, cadence and distance from Stryd. Paired as power pod will provide only power from Stryd and all other metrics from the watch. Make sure you set the auto calibration on the watch for the foot pod to off, otherwise the GPS data will try to add a calibration factor to the Stryd.

@richard-j-adams Well, incredible as it sounds, Suunto does not look like is willing to invest in proper structured sessions like the one you described, even though previous models had that available. Right now you can program that “simple” session in some other brands, but not with Suunto. Don’t even think about asymmetrical intervals or ladders… I would say the nearest you could set is a 20x50m with 30” rec time interval training. You would be able to do warming before the exercise (you would press start the exercise once you are warm and ready), and after you finish you would have free run, but you would need to know how long you have been running after the interval training and that’s usually hard to do without reading the watch face.

@kaschmtom first of all, do your watch have baro? If not, the ascent is measured with the GPS and only when it’s set to best accuracy. So, if the Suunto doesn’t have baro and the Garmin have is normal that you see some differences. If the Suunto has baro probably the Garmin is wrong. Secondly, could you give more data regarding the differences, I mean, real values like 20 m difference or 300 m…

@surfboomerang Thanks. I’ve done this several times and it didn’t help. After your post, I tried again on the street and after 10-12 minutes the signal was caught. Perhaps, the signal in Moscow today is weak or I was unlucky…:)

@jon-murua What is power saving in Spartan Ultra? And next tests to do : confirm the first one (full power and watch in pocket), and full power watch on backpack.

I found an alternative easier solution; to synch the data with training peaks. They give the option to configure my own zones and it calculates the time spent on each zone automatically

@inkognito done, it works thanks. My error was (hope to be able to explain): I deleted the activity, then i started a new one not shown (to check the fields) before adding the customized one and the watch added it to the short list again reaching the maximum again.

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone Glad to say that it’s all working ok now. Seems I was not aware of the changes made to the Stryd / Suunto app process. became a show stopper as I have now moved my SSS to SA fully. So, deleting all the connections and then remaking them gave the desired result as per Dimitrios’s answer.

@Alex-Charles Have you ever tried to contact support? Maybe there is something defective. In fact if you say " to use “best” accuracy which does not even exist anymore in the menu" maybe there’s something wrong. Did you check power saving menu ? Do you have the latest firmware ? I use GPS only and I never face drift that can let me say that the watch is unusable … HR(if you meant OHR) it’s a different topic. It could simply not work for you.
