Altitude extremely wrong (Spartan Sport wrist hr)
-
Hi, i just got an used Spartan Sport wrist hr. I resetted it, updated new firmware, synced GPS before every ride/run, but the the altitude is still wrong. The distance is accurate, but the height meters differs ectremely from my Garmin etrex touch 35 (the Suunto shows less than half of the meters). Any idea?
Thanks - Tom -
@kaschmtom How do you know that your Garmin Etrex is right?
I think this has to do with the 3m threshold Suunto has implemented. -
@kaschmtom said in Altitude extremely wrong (Spartan Sport wrist hr):

… and what does it means “extremely” for you?
synced GPS before every ride/run,
keep in mind that when you download the new agps data bundle, then the watch need 10/15 minutes to unpack it and use it
anyway there ara a lot of discussions about this topic, use the search function and reply to one of those.
I’m gonna close this topic to avoid duplicates, probably tomorrow -
@kaschmtom first of all, do your watch have baro? If not, the ascent is measured with the GPS and only when it’s set to best accuracy. So, if the Suunto doesn’t have baro and the Garmin have is normal that you see some differences. If the Suunto has baro probably the Garmin is wrong.
Secondly, could you give more data regarding the differences, I mean, real values like 20 m difference or 300 m…
