@greg-bennett said in Suunto 9 Baro Route + Activities: @mff73 Got it and thanks for the info. From a user perspective it seems like an number of odd odd and confusing design decisions are at play. 1 Uploading a Route, Asking you what activity to associate with the route, but that selection has no apparent impact when actually using the route. 2 Route and Activity, You can start a route, but can’t then select an activity. Again, even though you selected on in 1. 3 Routing Navigation and No Tracking, Route only navigates you, but does not give you the option of tracking same said route. It does give you the options of POIs, but typically you would want POIs + breadcrumbs. Anyways, just some feedback for the Suunto Team if they monitor the forums. it is your way to understand this. 1- route is not “associated” to one activity in the app, there is a list of “suitable activities” for that route --> i imagine one day a search engine in the app to filter routes by suitable activities. 3- it is the way it is implemented and once understood it fullfills all needs : navigate without tracking (in navigation mode), and tracking in activity mode. What would bring a tracking option in the navigation mode ? a duplicated way of launching an activity ?

I noticed difference issue on my activities too, for me duration differs by couple of seconds from sum of HR zones, but I considered it comes from HR zone times aren’t displayed with 1/10th seconds precision. But your case is way strange. Update: now that I look more carefully on my yesterdays run, when the watch lost connection with the strap at the end of the run, the difference is more then 10 seconds. Which is strange, if you consider that from precision, only max. 5 seconds may come (if there are 5 zones).

@halajos it is strange that if I manually import your route into: Suunto app: there is no waypoints loaded. Movescount: all waypoints are loaded. If I look at Start on and FINISH waypoints they are imported into Movescount as Waypoint type (I’ve tried changing them to Begin and End type, but Movescount export didn’t include <type> info into GPX file). When in Suunto app I added Start on as Begin and FINISH as End type waypoints and exported the GPX file, then it contained correct <type> info for both points. <wpt lat="46.73737" lon="17.667992"><name>Start on</name><type>Begin</type></wpt> <wpt lat="46.737305" lon="17.668049"><name>FINISH</name><type>End</type></wpt> This is what I was referring to with my previous post. If I didn’t had these type of waypoints added to my route then my notification would not work properly for both start/finish points. However note that I’m using an Ambit3, not sure how Suunto 9 handles this.

@flipper74 Go into the watch settings mode, it was probably paired to another phone, and select Connectivity, you should see Mobile App, select that and tell the watch to forget the connection. Remove the watch from the BT list on your phone. Make sure the watch has Discovery on, go into the SA app on the phone and it should recognize the watch.

@brad_olwin no the watch did not restart. The screen that usually appears [image: 1614151738783-20210224_082248-resized.jpg] (e.g. when starting an GPS related activity immediately and GPS icon is not blinking) did not appear, or i did not notice -i can not confirm that the pause&wait/discard-screen appeard-. What happened/what i can confirm is that the navigation display was looking like that: [image: 1614151856504-20210224_082312jpg-resized.jpg] And all the metrics pace, distance, etc. were messed up. The activity was still running (so was I - literally).

@sky-runner I can’t recall which version it was exactly but this problem was fixed a while ago. If I remember correctly the device does not do a full sync everytime now.

@runner Default running mode or custom one? If custom one, try deleting it and create a fresh one. It may have something corrupted.
