Looking at TP and Suunto App again it seems like the HR is displaced 6mins to the left.

@carlo-rocca you can disable sleep and hr and notifications. But not steps/cals if I’m not wrong, but they don’t consume a lot and you should be able to have over a week of battery.

@mdzott I also agree with you both in that the data in SA is correct. But Suunto must know that Strava is not developing for them and in fact due to market share would be more likely to develop for Garmin etc just due to number of devices connecting to Strava. Therefore understanding much of the market uses Strava as an end service, Suunto could be proactive and ensure that their run counts looked correct both in SA and Strava by adjusting how it transpired in how the file was written. A hard sell since its more work for very little tangible payoff so I understand why it is the way it is today…just noting the full scope of the problem.

@isazi going back while timer running is already possible. Just not with timer stopped (there is no real pause button). You even get the running timer shown here (and a tap on the time takes you back to the timer main screen) [image: 1645088526757-42034871-ed4f-4c2f-8c0f-39517e1f7caf.jpeg]

@egika I did try all possible uninstall/install, log out/log in options. I’ll try running at a higher intensity for a few runs and see if the issue is solved. Thank you all for your prompt replies!

@winke Outside of an activity you can’t use the Suunto Plus features. But what you can do anytime like “Safe”: Go to navigation -> your position -> save it as a POI in the watch. Then you can pick it later for getting directions, altitude difference and distance to this point. Regarding “Weather”: There is always the baro trend available plus temperature. Many watch faces show sunrise und sunset times as well as the oxygen partial pressure at heights above 2000m(?). What else would you need from those S+ screens out of activity?

@wmichi it seems to me it’s the backlight that washes thing out. It’s perhaps lack of contrast, Suunto might be able to improve slightly with an update by given the colours more saturation

@surfboomerang said in Sportmode Trailrunning Basic Suunto 9 baro: @sebastian-pichler I understand the question why it was removed in the latest firmware. No idea if there was a reason behind this or that it is a bug. Yes, there was a reason. It is basically about unification of some sport modes. But as @Brad_Olwin says, by downgrading the watch you lose some of the fixes and other features. If a personalised sport mode gives you the data you want, it looks like a valid workaround to me. As mentioned before, there is the “Trailrunning Mountain” pre-defined sport mode. Plus as always creating your own sport modes is a main feature of sport watches. So I would not call this a workaround, but just a standard feature to use to design the data fields as you like it.

@pierre-carneau How good was it is an excellent gauge of RPE if you use it correctly. Some coaches believe RPE is a better gauge of effort than HR. So, I disagree it is “childish”.

@mff73 I think if there was an option, wearing the strap for, say, a few hours once a month would be acceptable.

@juradofco I use manual laps to record intervals and its rest times on the track , that way you have all the details after the fact in watch and Suunto app, pace is spot on when using stryd (without stryd Suunto 9 pace was usually good enough but it’s been a while since I last ran without stryd) after you run some secs on the speed/pace you’ll be lock in, for me it’s about being focused and not taking many looks at the watch while running the interval distance on the track, once on the rest period of the interval , I look at the lab table on the watch and see how I did on these last effort while being ready for the next interval.

@andreaskauth your description looks a lot like the issue I have had with the snowboarding profile. (Mostly after a firmware update) Selecting the corrupted profile result in the “Oops…” error in SA and a watch reboot if you try to select it in the watch. I could always fix it by deleting and recreating the profile as @freeheeler suggested before. No hard reset was necessary.

@kowi_01 good question actually, I never check the data on my watch, apart from resources and HR maybe. I understand your point though and do hope that we’ll get it sometime. On the other hand, as every feature costs time to implement, I wonder if you’d pick this one over the other possible ones. Like some new metric or suunto plus app or new sport mode.

I follow … it also happened to me when I had deleted a route from the suunto app while the suunto 9 was disconnected because I was connected with the suunto 7 … the only solution was a hard reset of the suunto 9 …
