Find my phone not necessary anymore for IOS(?), problem solved!(?) + use case :-)

I am posting this for those of you who are, like me, obsessed with constantly leaving their phone behind and/or loosing it permanently.
Here is the story that finally led me to realize that a solution was potentially there since a while also with suunto’s newer watches.

To skip the story and get the solution go after the following chapter.

A couple of years ago, I was partying extremely hard in bachelor party held in the beach overnight. As you can imagine, things got wild, really wild. By the time that we manage to put our self together and ready to go back home in a state of apparent normality, the “tragedy it us”. One of my very best friends had lost is +1200$ Iphone X(something) in the sand. We were literally uncapable to think clearly at the point, but: “call it and make it ring” sounded the perfect solution the after short visual search. Tragedy over tragedy the phone was muted face down. No sound, no light.
At that point we started searching again by eyes and lights and hands and everything we got. Fisherman also tried to helps us. Nothing.
After almost two hours, I looked at my friend’s wrists, He was wearing a Garmin F5. It had music controls. I said :give it a try, this was our very last chance. It was 5:30 AM in the morning. As a matter of fact he tried and the phone started playing music. We found it in a matter of seconds. Happiness was with us again.
At that time I had to say: Garmins are shitty, but if you were wearing a suunto like me would have cost 1200$ plus to you this night…

Happily this not more the case, today thinking at this episode I tried, and it worked!!
So you can find your (whatever Iphone) just enabling media controls on suunto watch and hit “play” and make sure you have apple’s music app installed.

It works just fine. Even if you do not start the any music app or have just restarted your phone and there is not app working in the background.

But there is a minor caveat, it works only if you have apple’s music app installed and with at least one song.

To make it work with amazon music (I tried) you have to start the song on the phone to enable music controls.(not ok for my use case)
Donnow if spotify makes it or not.

In conclusion with Iphone and SUUNTO music controls you have also a nice “find my phone”

My previous “find my phone” features request can be discarded if someone has ever considered them

Now I have to find a solution for the missing weekend alarm setting (I made a request for that) but alternative suggestion are welcome…
