@Spree with open ‘open’ I mean you could access it through every webbrowser that support HTML5 and javascript regardless of your actual (hardware) device, the SA is limited to iOS and Android and you need to install the app on the particular device you want to use it, no Windows, no Linux for reviewing your workout data… import wise you are right in the need of moveslink/moveslink2/suuntolink on or the old movescount app

I do not follow the Suunto news that much and was only aware of these developments the e-mail sent out by Suunto end of April. I am also an Ambit 2 user, my father has an Ambit (1). I think now, I would still chose Ambit 3 over Spartan or Suunto 9: I do not need a colored touch screen on my watch that I take into the outdoors, where it is likely to be bashed by rock and ice… And I can’t operate a touch screen with gloves… It had everything I needed and still checks all the boxes today. So my vote goes to a platform that can be accessed on a pc, where I can upload data, download routes I create, create sport modes, … and connect with my cable. Any replacement should have the same capabilities as Movescount. But for me movescount is perfect, so in my opinion “if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it”. What is the best way to follow the news on this subject and where can we show Suunto that we would not like movescount to disappear?

@Triumph114 I don’t get it, why you don’t read the official suunto importation note in Suunto APP?

I have just received a message from the support following a request dating back several days. Service is currently only available for Suunto 9 and Suunto 9 Baro. They assure that the transfer service will be available soon for other models.

@amasidlover said in Suunto Spam: Does anyone know if I unsubscribe from the Suunto ‘spam’ - the almost daily emails I get asking me to buy a new Suunto watch - whether I will still get the substantive updates, i.e. transition update, new firmware / device releases etc. or is it all one preference? Also does anyone know of an email address for the marketing dept? All of the spam comes from noreply@email.suunto.com Its starting to get a bit wearing to be bombarded with adverts for new watches when I still haven’t been given a roadmap for when my Ambit3 will lose significant parts of its functionality (settings and workouts configurable with only a mobile phone/tablet). The same feeling, and now with those same ads on instagram. So annoying. Before there was content that was more towards the desire of doings sports/get outside. Seems like a regression.

@peak-ambit-60 if using Android create user profile on phone for your wife, install suunto app on both profiles with your own logins, then switch between profiles as and when you need.

Thanks for the two suggestions. I mentioned I was saddened, but mostly I’d like to focus productively on what the replacement can be. So, any other suggestions from anyone, to diversify the list? Is it possible to connect the Suunto watch to Garmin Connect? If it means anything, I have a inReach I pay monthly for, maybe that would give the ability to start an account. (My Suunto is Ambit 3 Peak)

Just to clarify the things on MC to SA moves transfer duration - it depends on both number of your moves and overall transfer requests in queue - so may took longer from time to time.

@JackB after syncing to MC will be closed down, you will be able to use Suuntolink or the app to send your activities to the Suunto cloud. From the app you can setup connections to third party services.

I’ve done the 5-button reset, then 4 dashes appear, but it doesn’t clear the logbook. The “force firmware update” in Moveslink2 did the job. Thanks for the tip regarding the logbook margusl. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IotsnNmpAag
