Judging the long time of receiving updates i dearly hope some proper features or firmware overhaul is being prepared.

@zhangschmidt while looking for some material in order to get back some old movescount features like training plan I stumbled uppon what maybe was your site. You had a lot of material, which unfortunately is not up anymore, if you still have some of them ,specially in what would concern movescount training plans I would be keen to have it to see if I can reproduce something.

@Kowalski I’m waiting for a successor of the Race S as well, decided not to go with the Race 2. But it felt surprisingly small for its size…

@Stefano-M64 Just to clarify, CG2 itself seems to work fine, its just the pop up notification for an upcoming red climb or green descent that are doubled up in the new then old format a few seconds apart.

@VoiGAS thanks for your reply. I think that this is a bug… I did a dive today , went into deco and the computer states a mandatory stop at 6 m and, at the end of this stop, a safety stop at the same depth. No mention of safety stop at 3 m at any time …

@davemaps I think the difference can be explained not by the absolute data accuracy but by the data resolution and thresholds used by algorithms. The difference is the most noticeable when I plan a running route on a rolling terrain with a lot of small changes in elevation rather than one large climb and one large descent. I find that the elevation data produced by Suunto App and probably especially the route planner tends to be quite smoothed with a lot of smaller changes in elevation disappearing entirely. In some places I may be going up and down through a substantial dip, but the estimated elevation data would show that as a steady climb. Because of this smoothness, a part of estimated elevation gain is lost with every small climb or descent - the more small climbs and descents there are the more difference in estimated data vs the actual measurements. And not only the total elevation gain and loss numbers that are affected but also climb guidance data for individual climbs - all of them are usually short by anywhere from 10 to 30 feet (3-10 meters).

@Egika Yes, the indicator is displayed, but only after you switch to the “BARO” page. You obviously don’t stay on that screen 24/7 (if only because button lock and additional views don’t work on that view). On the original first-generation Suunto Core, that indicator in the top-left was visible right on the main locked screen. The huge advantage was that when you were at a camp, for example, a quick glance at the watch told you how the weather was developing without having to switch over to the barometer— but this feature has disappeared. Don’t worry, I’m not jumping to conclusions; I’ve gone through the whole watch and read plenty of reviews, also I’m owner of first generation for years. The feature I’m talking about simply isn’t there. Besides, on the BARO screen itself, that trend indicator is practically useless anyway since you already have a detailed graph right below it.

@pavel.samokha said: @André-Faria Hey, you’re doing a nice effort, but it’s unlikely me or anyone else from current Suunto employees would help with that. I understand that it’s fun for you, but for wider audience of Suunto users I have more important issues to solve than providing you materials. It’s also questionable if I can provide them at all without legal checks. For sure, and I totally understand that. If I didn’t ask I would never know. And thanks for taking the time to answer me, it is already nice from you!
