@Hugues78fr Yes I understand, that is why I said it is a great idea, and thus i was taking it hypothetically further…very often at a diveresort or liveaboard they show you this drawn card. I would find it a great feature if i could just take a picture and have it on my wrist! The Nautic has an awesome screen…so i guess showing a drawn map or picture for me would be SUPERHANDY If there was ANYTHING on my wishlist that would be it! Tides and maps…tssshhh…i have a phone

Thanks guys how weird, I haven’t noticed mine doing it in normal mode only when I’m in an activity. I have the latest soft ware. Strange though it’s only started happening in the last week, the last software update was a while back now

I did manage to get the app working again, but not with what I would consider a repeatable process. Eventually it spontaneously turned itself back on. At least once it’s added to a sport profile and used it seems stable so far.

@Ecki-D. said in Only 15 Routes to synch to watch?: @Brad_Olwin Should I open another thread, I have asked other 9PP users and it happened to them too. In September I was still able to sync up to 20 routes. 6 of them I had to remove now. Its not a big problem but I first thought, the sync is somehow broken. I can “sync” more than 15 S+ apps as well but the app warns me I am over the limit and the watch especially during exercise is sluggish. Given the 9PP, which is quite old for watches (released in Nov 2022!), has the most recent firmware update adding a lot of features I expect RAM is limited and routes are restricted to 15. I seriously doubt anything is broken but I will ask internally.

@prakalejas chose activity as quick as possible (on car park to make sure that GPS fix will be ok) push start button before going uphill. I have spoken to Suunto help desk, they told me that this is known issue for vertical 2 and race 2 and asked me for send them my logs

@e6321 I’ve been using sportwatches, smartwatches, and fitness bands from different manufacturers for decades, and only the Vertical 2 gives me this issue. Even the Vertical 1 never caused these problems. I think the hardware has now reached a very high level of precision, just like the algorithms that interpret the signals. However, the additional customizations introduced at the software level to improve data representation may be adding noise — or removing noise — from the signal.

@2b2bff Then you calibrate your watch on that distance. And count laps to know your progress. Or buy a stryd. That’s a rather advanced footpod and is able to track distance by measuring leg swings quite well.

@used2knowme I have no idea why your post has been downvoted. I certainly can’t see any difference, and if it is dynamic, that doesn’t work that well as the watch is way too bright at night.

@giuliosq the Vertical 2 has a way advanced sensor and might do what you want from it. The first gen Vertical and Race both have sensors that work for some, but most speak badly about them…

@Nikolai-Simonov said in Live location S+ app: @Antoine I had an idea to measure this, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. Honestly, measuring power consumption properly is not as simple as it looks. Battery percentage is a very subjective metric, especially just on-eye observation. To do it right, we would need to use a multimeter and run controlled A/B tests (baseline vs. tracking in background/UI) across different devices multiple times. That’s the only way to get real consumption milliamp numbers instead of just rough estimates. But 3% per hour looks great for continuous live tracking. @nikolai-simonov : thanks for aswer. Of course. It wasn’t a criticism. I just wanted to get a rough idea of the battery drain on the Suunto Vertical. My measurement isn’t super precise, but I’m usually at around 1.6% per hour during an activity (100% ≈ 65h). With the SuuntoPlus Live Tracking app enabled, it’s around 3%, but i just want to confim that (or not). My goal is simply to estimate the overall battery life of my suunto vertical 1 for a long race while using live tracking.

ah okay, thanks for the replies. That is unfortunate. It happened twice already that I didn’t manually switch to the other device (i switch between the two every day so they can properly dry before I use them again) and I only got pulse based heart rate without zonesense for the activity.

@Sergei-Ladeishchikov Thanks for your comments. In the meantime I sent the watch to the Suunto Service Center, as it was still under warranty. Three days later I got the replacement - that was fast and a great service!

@Mff73, I understand but it seems that the algorithm doesn’t take into account that if you had a couple of days ago a hard work-out and then couple of days with no feeling input but have done some exercises, it seems to continue to calculate with the last given feeling feedback instead of A default “good / very good” based on heart rate, hrv and sleep. I’ll try out the following, to understand the behaviour: workout with very good feeling result and observe what happens after a couple of days with exercises with no feeling input. Followed by exercise with hard feeling. Expect, raises of recovery and then decline again. enabling feeling for all exercises again. Expectation to have recovery, consistent, back again around 70%

@kristofkmety said in Suunto Race 2 General Discussion: Anyone heard of something they planning to integrate more datas to apple health or bevel? maybe? If you want Bevel to access Suunto data Bevel needs to initiate this. Suunto has an API that Bevel can have access to. I do not know the limits on the API or what data streams Suunto allows access to. This is not something that Suunto would initiate from their end.

@Dieter1960 is it iOS you are using with Apple Health? maybe other devide saves data into Apple Health and then Suunto takes those data out from there?
