Check out v1.6, introducing INT‑FOCUS mode — designed for consecutive intervals where you want to stay fully focused on the current effort, and only review the previous interval briefly after each lap or on demand with a tap. Let me know what you think!

Got a reply from Suunto Support. Seems to be a firmware bug, but there is no timeframe for a fix.

after everything you already tested, this really does sound more like a firmware issue on the Suunto Race S after 2.39.20 than a router/network problem. The interesting part is your router logs showing absolutely no connection attempt from the watch. That usually means the WiFi module itself is not initializing correctly after the update, not just failing authentication. I d still try one last simple test: connect it to a very basic 2.4 GHz network without mesh/repeator features, WPA3, band steering, or hidden SSID. Some devices become weirdly picky after updates. But since you already tested multiple routers and hotspots, I honestly doubt your network is the real issue here. Feels like the update broke WiFi handling for some units, especially since the problem started right after the firmware upgrade and before the maps could finish downloading.

It’s been a while since the last public release… and finally apple approved the v1.0.17 (google is still reviewing as usual) This is probably one of the biggest updates so far. So, most of you probably already tried that new features in testFlight, btw I want to highlight some of them (smth like release notes): Updated home screen The main page is now card-based, and cards can be rearranged however you like. Better UI performance overall Previously there were noticeable frame drops while moving around the map. Now it much smoother. Groups are now integrated directly into the home screen You can access group invite links right from the main page. Group members are now visible on the map in real time. Added PTT (Push-To-Talk) inside groups (Experimental feature) Basically a walkie-talkie mode between members of an active group. Added automation providers: n8n, Zapier and Make (you know, if you know) Currently available as community nodes or private integrations. They can work with checkpoints, session events, and even Suunto workouts. I’ll probably make a separate detailed post about this later. probably. Sensor Forwarding support (Experimental feature) The app can now be used not only for geo tracking, but also as a sensor forwarding bridge. You can connect sensors to your watch and forward the data through the app into platforms like Zwift or MyWhoosh or froward somewhere else, while still keeping your workout recorded in Suunto ecosystem. Cycling and running profiles are currently supported. Completely rewritten BTLE stack (the conflict with the Suunto App is still not solved because of… you know) So, next releas I probably going to finally focus on localization support as a most requested ‘feature’ in support. Also want to highlight some updates made to the web version: Support for 3D characters on the map You can now choose different character styles in your profile. Drone-like follow mode It’s mimic to drone style tracking camera, a bit… um… “cinematic” from my perspective. Your partner or followers can now see their own position relative to you directly on the map, including live distance and ruller between you. That’s probably it for now. Thanx you all for testing, feedback, and patience.

I also have the same issue. 9pp running 2.50.28 and many times over the last year or more wrist heart rate stops. Green leds not flashing. Turn off turn on to fix but you only realise it’s stopped when you synch in the morning. Night sleep, recovery all inaccurate. I have no good reason to buy Suunto again ️

It’s been happening to me for 2 days now. The first time I didn’t pay much attention to it, but yesterday’s was more “fun.” In the middle of an interval workout, the watch decided to restart itself, ending the activity. When I noticed, I started the same activity again with the same interval workout, and to my surprise it restarted itself two more times. In addition to the activity, I was also using a COROS HRM. I’m trying to send the logs, but the app freezes and won’t even let me send them… a complete disaster.

Yes AMOLED looks great indoors but for long outdoor use I still think MIP has a place. On watches like the Suunto 9 Peak Pro or older endurance models, the always-on readability and battery behaviour just feel more natural for hiking, ultra runs, biking, etc. You glance at it and the information is simply there without the “wake up” feeling AMOLED often has. I d definitely be interested if Suunto released a modern MIP endurance watch again, especially if it kept the cleaner/tool-watch style instead of chasing smartwatch aesthetics. For me the biggest points would be battery life, sunlight readability and lower distraction in daily use. Weight matters too, but I’d still take slightly heavier hardware over another bright AMOLED panel I need to baby during long trips.

@Kajkom Yes, it matches. But that doesn’t seem like it’s connected to the issue. The watch counts correctly all the way up until you save/finish the workout, at which point it discounts it 3.75%.

"if you don’t end your activity… " Yes but I did end it and was in trouble. All your answers make no sense and don’t address the point: Who is the genius in Suunto who decided you need to download tracks to a phone and then upload them back in order to be able to follow them on the watch? The data is already in the watch, let me use it, please! And besides, the battery of my watch outlasts the one of my phone, so the situation was not unexpectable (some of you who answered would probably come up with this great solution: make the battery of the watch last less
