Not poking anyone and really not wanting to offend, but I see a number of these comments that ‘my Suunto is not the same as my…’ I work in the world of metrology, where nothing is ‘correct’ in absolute terms: i.e. everything has a level of permissible error. I have many conversations about this: just because you compare one thing with another, neither is necessarily ‘right.’ It’s a comparison between two devices. Arguably, the Suunto may be more accurate than the Garmin!

@Wilson75 said in Suunto Vertical - a Happy new owner !: What do you think about the battery consumption? The battery life is pretty epic, especially the solar model. If I’m honest I can’t say I ever noticed much by way of the solar, well that was until last week. Charged it to full on Wednesday morning then ran on Thursday morning for 2 hours using maps, which took it down to 97%. That afternoon I had an hour and a half drive to get back home and with the sunlight hitting it went back up to 100%, When I checked it the following day it was still on 100% For me I reckon I could easily get close to a month before I would be close to running it completely flat; FWIW I probably average around 60km/week of running plus at least a couple of walks

@ionparvan @Umer-Javed Thanks for the idea, I should have thought of this. The update will be coming soon for the 9PP. Use the Customization to Pin the Map on the Vertical, if not recording an exercise this will allow quick access to POIs On the 9PP you will be able to pin the Compass as the pinned Widget, this will also allow quick access to location and POI. Update for 9PP should be soonish.

@BrunoH said in How many runs are needed for one outdoor run?: My HR goes up to zone 5 in less than 5 mins and it is hard to keep going in Z5 that long. (Yes, there are wrecks like me in here ) Since they don’t state, that you must have a constant pace, I would set a zone 3 alarm before running, start running slowly and as soon as I would reach the upper zone 3 limit (or the medium zone 4 - if that‘s still bearable) I would walk until I fall back to the middle of zone 3 and then start running again. In zhat way you should be able to constantly stay in zone 3 for those 8 minutes

@TurtleCub You probably tried this as well, but the watch needs to sit tight on the charger in order to establish a new wifi connection. I had forgotten this and it took me a while to get it sorted…

@Patrick-Löffler-0 said in Recovery sessions: I wear any smartwatch in the Sauna. The temperature of the watch does not get so high as one might think. OK, You both saw where I was going with that first question. I like sauna’s, but personally I never wear my watch, I’ve killed a Garmin 735 at this game and a heart belt (deliter because the glue had taken a knock). Suunto shares for my SRace : -20° C to +55° C / -5° F to +130° F. Even in the centre of the room in the lower part, if it’s only 50/55°C you’re already supposed to be at the maximum of the watch. In short, I’m not sure that Suunto intends to create a sauna label, which will inevitably give the idea that it’s perfectly suited to saunas. I’m already finding it hard to see the point of mermaid swimming in the list…, so I wouldn’t be too keen to see the arrival of sports, sauna/ice bath/massage/compression/massage gun labels etc… Maybe just a “Recovery”.

@Andres-Linares I didn’t know that there is Jump Rope. I will test it soon but I saw that there is activated Suunto + (Movement) by default. Did you test it without S+?

One suggestion I have for button orientation during a workout would be to use the top and bottom buttons for navigating pages up and down. Right now the middle button is being used and one has to cycle through all workout pages which seems rather inefficient. This way, the middle button can then be a lap button and a long-press of the middle button can then pause or stop the workout. Kinda similar to Polar but ofcourse Polar has a 5-button layout in most of their products.

@Stoke80 I see the HRV in the widget but with the note that you need 14 days of tracking. it does show a value in the widget but without the colored scales yet. On the watch face I see a number but it says no data and the color bars are not populated. will see what happens at day 14…

Good catch. I’m not sure if anyone of power is tracking these, but I’ve been trying to post small UI bugs in the SW update topic here: https://forum.suunto.com/topic/9732/software-release-2-30-26/190?_=1700569982085 Can’t hurt to point them out, I guess. Perhaps they’ll be addressed if we get a hotfix for some of the “real” bugs.

@Brad_Olwin Of course, a lot of what you say is correct. And thank you again for your commitment. However, it is also the case that Suunto does not have good communication. I know this much better from Coros, for example. Take a look at the comments on FB, Insta… sometimes the exact same errors are posted there and the users are annoyed… I also know that people are more likely to share bad experiences than good ones. We’re not talking about hardware problems like bubbles on the HRM sensor or something similar. These are actually isolated cases… We’re talking about software bugs… and in the case of software or memory problems, a bug fix after 6 months isn’t exactly a good service. Of course, developers and programmers need usable data. Maybe the key or the solution lies here… where you can report problems more easily. I think the forum here is great and I’m grateful for all the tips you get here. However, this forum is probably unknown to the masses and the users are here because they are looking for help. So the user is looking for help and can only get it here With Coros, for example, you can upload videos about your problem via Facebook Messenger. There was feedback and the most important thing was an update or bug fix every 1 to 2 months. There is no transparent feedback from Suunto itself “we are working on it” it is known” So no offense… in my case I have now done a factory reset and completely new furnished. I hope this makes my problem a thing of the past…
