Vertical pairing garmin neo 2t stationary
-
Hey everyone,
just got vertical watch and love it so much! however i didn’t figure out how to pair my Garmin neo 2t the smart stationary with my vertical for indoor cycling.
The vertical has the following type of sensor/pod for pairing, but no smart stationary listed…
-Heart
-power
-Bike pod
-Foot podAnd i successful paired both “power” and “Bike pod”, but one of them will never turn GREEN when i about to start a “indoor cycling” activity. I believe “Bike pod” will collect cadence etc, that’s why i really need “power” and “bike pod” connected at the same time when start indoor cycling.
I even tried to switch on ant+ in my garmin neo 2t menu but nothing changed…Anyone experiencing the same satuation?
-
@jakexuan the Vertical does not support ANT+, so you only need bluetooth. I never tried with a trainer, on a bike you can pair to both bike and power sensors and it works. Hopefully someone with a trainer can help you here.
-
@isazi thanks! connect to a trainer and works fine (i means both power & cadence figures) is my last hope that not giving up on suunto:)
-
@jakexuan I believe more love for cyclist is coming, one way or another, even if cycling was not Suunto focus for a (long?) while. In the meanwhile, have you tried pairing just as power or bike sensor and see what metrics are sent to the watch?
-
@isazi i think i did and it didn’t work well, i’ll give it try again later~

Maybe not very helpful for you:
I can pair my Wahoo Kickr to the watch and it transmits Cadence and Power properly to the watch. Together with the HR belt, I have all relevant data on my Vertical.
The downside is, that, so far, I did not manage to have the Cadence and Power on my Vertical and on Zwift (over Apple TV) on the same time.
-
@Stoke80 can you tell us how did you pair the trainer to the watch?
-
When I remember right, I just added it as Powder Pod to my Vertical.
When I start the Indoor Cycling Training, the Symbol with the Flash is blinking.

I can confirm that you need to pair your smart trainer as a Power Pod. The watch will then receive and record power and cadence data from the smart trainer when starting an activity such as Indoor Cycling.

@isazi hi there, just gave another (one last) shot last night before went out my patient, and it didn’t work as i thought, really drives me crazy~~~~~~~~~~~
what i did last night:
1st try - pair the garmin neo 2T as power pod ONLY, launch indoor cycling, power icon GREEN, start activity, only power was transmitted, no cadence, no others…2nd try - pair the garmin neo 2T as bike pod ONLY, launch indoor cycling, cadence icon GREEN, start activity, only cadence & distance & speed were transmitted, no power…
3rd try - pair the garmin neo 2T as power pod, AND pair the garmin cadence sensor as bike pod, launch indoor cycling, cadence icon GREEN, power icon grey and keep flashing. Tried to disconnect bike pod, then power was connected instead.
@Stoke80 i believe i tried every scenarios including yours, but it didn’t work on myside. And the data transition from our trainer CAN NOT give to Zwift and your watch at the same time with BT connection (i think i’ve read this issue some where here).
-
May be it is a solution if you want all data on the Vertical or on Zwift?
-
@pilleus thanks! i’ll keep that in mind~ this ant+ adaptor will be absolutely in my shopping list, as soon as i figure out how to connect my garming trainer with vertical first, i mean at least Power and Cadence can be received by vertival at the same time.
-
FWIW I have been able to get power & cadence with my Wahoo Kickr. But Suunto’s firmware was unable to support dual speed/cadence with power…

@jakexuan I have a s9pp and the elite direto. I gave up to connect the watch to the trainer. My way to go is to connect the trainer with the app (on notebook or tablet), and connect hr-belt+power pedals with the s9pp. Works flawless for me.
-
@seanvk yep, seems like the only option is to ignore what’s on the watch, but focusing on the zwift data on TV when riding.
And i’m guessing i’ve to accept partial missing data on suunto ZH after the activity synchronized.
-
@marcrie yes that should also work for me but you won’t see any other data except Power & HR from you phone after the syc am i correct?
