@Swaddy61 In theory structured workouts would mostly do what you are after but as discussed in other topics unfortunately they only currently display when you are out of zone rather than alerting. You are certainly not the only one after such functionality so we wait with hope

I think it would be worth rethinking or copying the function of a professional stopwatch such as the Seiko Stopwatch S141. I attach a photo from the OnTrack website. As the Seiko has 4 buttons (Mode, Lap/Split-Reset, Recall and Start-Stop) you only need to replace e.g. the “Mode” button with another solution, e.g. by holding down the top button on the SV for a longer time (I know it is a shortcut to another function, but in an open stopwatch application it could be locked to that SV feature). Everything else is quite clearly described in the manual. If necessary I can rewrite it in a post here, but I don’t see the point if we are going to copy an already developed schema. Several features do not need to be implemented, e.g. how to delete collected data, this can be carried out in the same way as for other data stored in SV and the mobile app. However, I maintain that such a professional stopwatch should be a core feature of the SV or SR and not just an additional Suunto Plus app, especially when they are called sports watches. Suunto could shake up the competition this way and win themselves new customers. It’s actually strange that such an option has been unavailable until now. Strange for me, of course, but it was one of my first thoughts when I first checked out the watch’s capabilities. I hope that a good use can be made of it and the idea gets into the right hands. It depends on the used strap. With a 26 mm velcro strap I did not feel a difference.

Not poking anyone and really not wanting to offend, but I see a number of these comments that ‘my Suunto is not the same as my…’ I work in the world of metrology, where nothing is ‘correct’ in absolute terms: i.e. everything has a level of permissible error. I have many conversations about this: just because you compare one thing with another, neither is necessarily ‘right.’ It’s a comparison between two devices. Arguably, the Suunto may be more accurate than the Garmin!
