@Cookiemonster It only happened once to me (well, except kayaking, that’s a different topic though) wearing the watch inside the jacket during a very strong storm, with very strong winds. I guess you didn’t wear long sleeves in Singapore right? I never did Maybe your arms were bent enough to create some kind of vacuum around the baro sensor?

@General_Witt I’m not a jewelry expert, but I think these quick change system requires an elongated hole to operate the quick change bar, too… not 100% sure if every other 24mm strap is equipped with that by default…

S9 will likely get another substantial FW update soon. Just go and get one, waiting for a successor will keep you always waiting and never getting anything…

@AndyD2574 Clunky may be a personal opinion, the UIs are quite different for Garmin vs Suunto, funny I bought and returned a 5x because it was difficult to navigate the UI and seemed “clunky”:). During navigation there is a red arrow that points north, that is the best you will get for now. If you charge the watch, the charger is a strong magnet and will require a re-calibration of the compass. In fact, I have found the magnets on hydration tubes to hold them in place a PIA as every time the watch goes near one I have to recalibrate. The other questions have been answered I think. The Suunto is rock solid with its features, mine does not crash and works effectively, whether I use Navigation or Intervals. The S9b does not have the features that a fenix 6x Pro will have so you need to decide which features are essential. However, Suunto is constantly updating the watch and likely will continue updating until a replacement comes out. Typically the updates contain new features and occur quarterly. The firmware updates undergo extensive field testing by real users…I am one of them, and typically the updates have few bugs. Try the Navigation features, they are well integrated with the app, it is simple to find and upload a route or to draw one. I draw most of my routes on my iPhone, it is painless and quick. Long, complicates routes I do on Gaia on my iPad and drop them into a folder where I can easily import into SA. This is one area where Suunto is well above anyone else imo.

@Brad_Olwin thanks this is helpful. its a bit hard to find some of the more elevation oriented information on a variety of devices online…not very many of the user guides or forums or reviews really address it specifically enough, though this one is probably by far the best and most thorough place!

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I sometimes find HR interesting but spot on regarding steps. Would also disable sleep monitoring as I don’t use it

When I go to SuuntoLink, It prompts me to restart. I click it, it does upload files and the green ring stops just after half![image: 1595963896148-img_2360-resized.jpg]

@DereksDontRun you can also search the forum for altitude threshold… it’s not really a bug, it is to make the best without a baro that adds cost. I think you’ll find plenty explanation here but the summary is: if you are alti addicted like some of us, you might want to upgrade to a baro

Hi, SA can sync with watch without any server connection (offline), and then, it will upload to Suunto Cloud and 3rd party service (in case the is some configured) Is the sync problem between watch and mobile or between mobile and server? BR
