@sartoric I am just missing that 5 min (or maybe it was 10 min) graph. But I created a special sports mode to deal with it @lexterm77 I am charging my watch to 80-85 % max all the time. Would be nice to have this option automatically implemented, but it’s not so hard to keep an eye on your watch from time to time and stop the charging when it’s above 80 Anyway, daily HR from the belt would come handy in many occasions. For example, after finishing the exercises. I have my S9 often mounted on my bike or I’m wearing it on top of my jacket sleeve not touching the skin. When I stop activity recording, watch soon switches to optical HR and records nonsense if I forget to put it immediately to my wrist. In many cases I’m still wearing the belt while stretching or cleaning my bike afterwards anyway. So why not to use it?

@Brad_Olwin said in Upgrade from S7 to S9?: @lexterm77 Except QuantifiedSelf is free and provides most of what MC used to. Yes, for S series. A3P data that syncs to SA is crippled and then it goes to QS, my distance, heart rate, ascend, descent lap data is blank. Power is non existent and no built in epoc graph for endurance pacing analysis. Epoc would need licensing from FB, and Ambit power data would need to be included from SA side. Maybe it is possible to import from stryd and merged?

@xikerm61 If you need a step tracker buy a step tracker Unfortunately every watch isn’t perfect in step counting … since you wear it on the wrist Some a little less bouncy, some are more , and it’s stated (I guess in the manual too ) that step counting is more an “active life” estimation Anyway this topic has ben already discussed several times, so please search one of the previous and continue the discussion there. @isazi cheers, the soft reset did it. Will have to verify during an activity, but looks good in standard non-activity mode.

@tomahawk5000 true. The sensor on the S9 is quite expensive on the battery, more than Bluetooth.

@Chriisii21 Regarding heart rate, and having also a S9 baro I do not have face problems using a Polar H10 strap or Suunto Smart Sensor. Are you sure that is tight enough or wet? Could be that when you are in the MTB it moves and loses contact? Is the battery new? Regarding the fitness level, in my case is quite reliable but a few hints: Define correctly max heart rate and rest heart reate. As far as I know it only works with “running” activities (running, trail running, etc…). Besides if your heart rate is not measured correctly it will give bad/false values.

The suunto 9 BARO as it is called now seems to be a very good sports watch but it is not perfect. I recently spoke to the guy who wrote this suunto 9 Baro review and he was telling me that he loved it but he is still unconvinced with the apps. He loved the extended battery life and metrics. I am toying between buying this one of a Garmin 6X Pro. Lening more towards the suunto as I have an ambit 3 already and the 9 Baro looks like a solid watch all-round.
