      Hi
i have a little problem with my Suunto 9. When i start training with intervals, i need 15 minutes warmup and after the training 15 minutes cooldown.
Is there a way to add this in my training options? I don´t find something like this.

      hope you can help me.

There’s no way of configuring the watch to do this in the way that you can on Garmin, Polar, Coros, Sigma, the Ambit series etc. the closest you can do is what Sartoric said and do your warm-up and cooldown ‘ad hoc’ just watching the watch until your warm up and cool down are supposed to finish to monitor your target pace/hr and time; then use the ‘Intervals’ function to actually do the main set. Its better than nothing I suppose…

@amasidlover … or the other way is to setup all fields with lap function (avg lap pace, lap distance, lap time, etc), disable 1km autolap and start to use LAP button on the watch. It works for me very good:)

@Maryn The key things for me from a structured intervals perspective are to be notified when I need to start and stop each segment with a sound and/or vibration…

@Beast2703 I have a custom sport mode for Intervals. Three fields with Pace, Lap distance and lap duration on screen one, Interval screen for screen 2, which I don’t always use and lap information for screen 3. You could easily set something like this up and hit the lap button when you start. When the lap duration is 15 min, start intervals and when your intervals are over do the same.

One of the reasons for not having a fixed warm up and cool down is for me, I am doing intervals at a specific location. Having a fixed warm up would make the entire programmed workout useless.

@Brad_Olwin The Ambit 3 has (for the moment!) the option to configure a segment to either last a specific distance or until the lap button is pressed. Although to be honest if its a case of run to a hill/track and do X reps of hard/easy as a workout then I’d probably just use simple intervals too…

@amasidlover I know, I have an Ambit3. I typically use lap buttons for my intervals, even complex ones and rarely use the interval function on the S9. Most of my coached group that runs together have Garmin. Not a single one programs their intervals into the watch AFAIK.

You don’t need predefined warm-up and cooldown in sports.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Personally, there are times when I do - not for a physiological reason but because I very often have only a limited time to get the whole workout done its nice to have a notification when I’ve reached the maximum time available for the warm-up (to still be able to get the main set in). However I accept that many people don’t and are perfectly happy without that functionality; all I’m saying is that personally, I do use it…

Hi and thx for this many answers.
Too bad that this function does not exist.
Whether someone needs it or not is an open question.
It is an important function for me to know when I have to finish the individual phases of my training without look at the clock again and again. The idea with the timer or die Laptimer is good and I’ll try it.
@Brad_Olwin it sounds good. I will try it also 👍

@amasidlover Hi, if you need a predefined time for WU, I think that there is a workaround for you. Before starting an activity, go to options and set Target -> Duration -> and set the time what you need for your WU. You’ll get notification when 50% of time passes and another notification when timer expires. Once the timer expires completely, you’ll get the notification and you can then start your interval training.
