I feel fit, but for my S9 I'm actually dying of old age (a.k.a. the mistery of VO2max algorithm)
-
Hello everyone,
these weeks I’m working pretty hard to get fit again after these sad 3 months spent for the corona on the couch.
I feel pretty fit, probably not my best shape ever (still got acound 5kg that I want to lose), but still able to have some serious fun, like in the last 2 days: quantified-self.io/user/h8UfO0YGA3fVsqsGpL9SCe8GoVF2/event/otkyEDABvfr91tRaYvuMWell, my “fitness age” keeps going down and is now at an all time low of 79 years old, when I’m actually 34.
What’s going on?
Is there something in the algorithm that penalize long distance mountain hikers like me?
Is the VO2max number accurate only for competitive runners?I don’t run at all.
I do some “slow” trail running, I climb, I hike, some classic mountaneering. Thanks to those that will help me understand why am I a very old boy for my watch.

I think it’s only for runners or walkers if you walk very intensive (HR rate at least 70% of max)
