@artium not really sure if this is the case on your situation, but it happened to me once with the Ambit 3 Peak. I use auto-pause with snowboarding and noticed one time the watch did not resume the activity after moving. In fact this was not a bug in the watch, but caused from an action I did. During auto-pause I pressed buttons which caused the watch to change from auto-pause to manual pause. Ofcourse the watch didn’t resume the activity after moving. Other than that, auto-pause has never failed on me. Although I wouldn’t recommend the feature for low speed sports like hiking. Because of thresholds it is possible the watch pauses the activity when you don’t want it.

@artium all heart rates due to optical technology can measure hr even on a banana. The suunto 9 detects motion and then fires the measurement. If you have it on a desk , foot vibrations can trigger that. Keep it on a wall, a library etc

@mff73 i took A3P and the S9B on the same trip (A3P in the saddle bag; S9B on the wrist). And there was a difference - A3P never wandered off the road, the S9B did. They also reported different ascent (as usual S9B was lower), but this is a topic for another thread.

@jokeen2020 Yeah it always records slightly longer, but I hate all of the elevation I lose out on!

@michal-orlík this is probably not fully on topic, but I was wondering if you could please explain how to have the watch auto count your laps. Specifically, today i did some pool swimming i did perhaps 10-15 laps and the counter stayed on 1 all time. Thank you in advance and sorry for the trivial questions, i have used Garmin for a very long time and the S9p is my first Suunto

@stan-schouten yeah the only way to reset the watch and install a new firmware is with Suuntolink.

The date and time on my S5 did a changeover and now reads Wednesday 01-Sept at 00:20 ( now ). I have the auto date|time to Suunto app set to true and battery saver turned on. The watch time was correct this morning before a bicycle training, I noticed the error after finishing. The watch has not synced to SuuntoApp yet, as my S9 is the current connected watch. Thoughts on debugging or just ignore? Best guess is the training will be stored on 01-Sept date and the watch will be auto-corrected to present during the sync.

This number is a nice little game to play though. But other than that - not very useful.

@bradweber did this happen in a aid station? I mean, did you switch to ultra inside the station?

Interesting, wearing it like this never even occurred to me. Reminds me of an Ironman watch that Timex did years ago that was designed to be worn on the side of your wrist, their logic was that the watchface will be facing you when you are on your aerobars
